That’s what every report is. It’s a repeat of what someone said originally
Come on, surely a reporters job is to sometimes be first to a breaking news piece? I've repeated this many times, how does the Romano guy who lives in Italy release breaking news stories so far in advance of Phil Hay each and every time. In all his years reporting on Leeds he hasn't managed to get a single inside source, quite remarkable really

Yes most reports are rehashed but Phil Hays are usually 48 hours late

Someone else here said Romano was also a waste of time. All opinions. Without reporters we’d have nothing to discuss

That Fabrizii lad confirmed the Dan James story. Seldom wrong

I disagree.

Fabrizio Romano has a way of making people believe him even when he's wrong. Instead of admitting when he's wrong, he'll ditch his old story like a lead balloon and run with the new lead as if it's his idea.

He did that regarding Raphinha and the 25m buy out clause. It was only when Hay stepped in to give the full story, that Romano suddenly flipped the story on its head like it was a new revelation which he had the scoop on!!!

Well said

It's all part of the journos trade;

Reports say / It has been reported = something made up or heard from the bloke at the chip van.
Rumours = something made up or heard from a bloke who heard it from the bloke at the chip van.
Sources = probably the bloke at the chip van.
Sources close to = definitely the bloke at the chip van.
Breaking news = just this minute heard something made up or heard from a bloke who heard it from the bloke at the chip van.

The fallback is to make something up and if you get a response, your headline writes itself - "Leeds deny rumours about XXX"!

Let me put it this way. I don't see what the club have to gain by lying to the fans. It would only hurt the club and themselves in the end. So if they say they have tried to signed a striker or a LB, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Yes we have to live in hope of a win against Everton and a incoming striker:emoticon-0148-yes::1980_boogie_down:
What the club get is manipulation and PR. Take the “pursuit” of CDK, how long did fans talk about it despite him saying from day one that he had no interest in signing. Takes focus away from the fact we go into the season with a half fit Bamford (I might be being kind on his level of fitness there). Let’s the club trot out the we tried / prepared to make him the record signing / only spend the money on “right type of player”. Maybe the funds aren’t there so the chase was a cover or maybe I’m just becoming more of a cynic in my old age.

Agree with Kinnear except for the bit he missed out: we have Patrick McVities Bamford who is injured more often than not and have seen 2 years of Rodrigo not doing what Rodrigo does, which leaves an emerging talent who hasnt emerged off the bench much….l

Well, watching the premier league review, so first time I’ve plucked up the courage to watch any of the highlights (can’t stand watching us lose) so finally saw the Sinisterra miss. I can only say **** sake, my daughter would have put that away <doh>
