Interesting article on big company profits in which the Louis Dreyfus group gets a brief mention. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-62634983
I'd very much doubt it tbh. A statement would bestow more credibility on Neil than he deserves ... ... he was employed to do a job, left and will be replaced by another manager. SAFC, under KLD, will progress but, of course, not everything will go exactly to plan. Neil, in my opinion, thought he was bigger than the club and could dictate his own terms. Silly man, you've gone for the money while making yourself look incredibly cheap at the same time ... quite an achievement.
Barnes knows feck all he's proved it time and time again, people just believe the narrative that suits there agenda.
We’ve spent peanuts and managed to assemble the squad we have now, well done KLD and Speakman worth your weight in gold
I don’t think Nick Barnes realises how thick he is to write that, he should be praising them, bloody turnip.
Isn't it strange all this comes out when there is a bit of a blip in things? Didn't hear any of this after Wembley or even up until Friday morning. Does my head in
I must be missing something, because I have just sat and listened to the RR podcast and found it very positive and encouraging. Yes Barnes said that he had spoken to stewards and they complained about getting less wages than Hartlepool, I also spoke to a supervising steward who was whinging about the clubs penny pinching, the same steward who told me previously when I questioned their searching policy, that there are quite a few Geordies amongst them who don’t give a flying fu**k about their job or the club. Barnes also spoke about the fees for incoming players and said they have not been reported accurately and we are nowhere near the leagues high spenders. All of our transfers have been undisclosed so the fees the newspapers report are obviously made up. In my opinion the only people to blame for that is the reporter for lying and us fans for believing what they report. Barnes expresses some interesting opinions in the podcast as do the other two lads, but what I liked about it is they didn’t pass their opinions off as facts and overall I thought they were very supportive of the club.
Going to listen to the podcasts on the plane on the way home but the sooner safc bring the catering, ticketing and stewards all back in house the better.
I think all clubs get external people to do those things and it just seems to cause problems. There's massive fuss on at West Ham at the moment about the price of drinks (beer and soft drinks) in the ground with people boycotting them and talk of the club suing the concession holders. Surely it can't be that much more hassle for the club to run these things themselves.
Yes,there was someone on about it the other day....think they said £7.60 a pint! Think I read somewhere that West Ham are stuck with it as the terms of their deal for the stadium doesn't give them any say over the catering.
Aye, I saw that on twitter. They knocked 40p off or something in the end, but still over 7 quid a pint.
