Agreed, especially when these lads are earning telephone number salaries. It's not as if he's on 20k here and someone has offered him 40k to do the same job
short career though and new job closer to home I’m in no way advocating it but I can see the reasoning Every manager is only half a dozen games away from pressure and stick for not doing what fans want. 40,000 people boing you will have an impact regardless of how much you say you dont care! Much easier at Stoke cause they only have 40 that care!
I’ve been offered double the money I was on and our lads recently been offered a thousand a day but didn’t take it. Not everyone is after more and more money.
I've taken a pay cut to change jobs as the new job has better long term potential, with better management and ethics
Even if that pic is from a year ago, it still suggests he had a relationship with the Stoke hierarchy and almost certainly had this pre planned should they decide to bin O Neil. It absolutely stinks,
I wonder what Michael O'Neil thinks of all this ... ... Neil lined up so they could sack him and be replaced before he'd cleared his desk.
It’s a tough one like, will be forever grateful for him getting us out of League one but Friday was a ****s move. Moyes will forever be top as he started the decline.
I don't want to stick up for AN too much as there is no way he wasn't tapped up before Friday but has anyone read the comments? The dates don't seem to match what the people commenting are saying. They are very much talking about him being out of work so I assume the 2021 is wrong?
I have taken the photo and the date to show that he was in touch with the Stoke chairman whilst unemployed and went to games with him. Not a great look considering they had a manager in place
being a bit thick ffs I get the point now, also its 22 now not 21 ****ing life passing me by here . It also proves there was enough of a relationship for them to have the chat as soon the match finished last week, which I have no doubt happened. I do not know the ins and outs of what we were paying him and he might have been undervalued here but he has been underhand and for me would have made the move even if we were paying them above the going rate on a 3 year deal. End of the day he would have walked in and said I want away and doesn't matter what length contract etc... if he wanted away we would have given him permission as no point keep a want away manager is there.
Was it the same Stoke chairman when they went for him when he was at Preston? Probably have a long standing relationship.
People are not " idiots" if they are reluctant to swallow every word from Speakman's mouth. Some of it barely even makes sense "In order for the fans to get some context from it" to take one example from his statement on Friday. That is so bad it requires the reader to infer meaning. Quite a lot of the rest is ambiguous and jargon loaded. It's mostly just word salad. And it's not as if he doesn't have record of presiding over chaos.
