Well, let's just hope he's ****e. They are going to be in line for the next level players after the top 6 purely down to money.
The Spanish football experts whose opinions I’ve heard/read agree with the lad you’ve quoted. What does he bring to them as a non goal scoring centre forward? What are his strengths etc?
Spanish football correspondent on Total Sport last night wasnt very complimentary of him at all. Said if the transfer was between Spanish clubs he would only be going for 15mill euros.
Hes a talented lad but is so inconsistent and drifts in & out of games too much for me. Its a lot of money to pay for someone like that but he does have the raw attributes to be a good PL CF. Anyway enough about that lot Hopefully today is the day we get an announcement or 2
I believe la Real play Isak as a wide player who tucks inside, like an old fashioned inside forward to some extent. His main contribution comes from his dribbling and from the positions he takes up. He's very good as part of that team but I'm not sure he's the right player for Newcastle.
He's 22, mate. That consistency will come with age. What time is the cut off to be available for the Norwich game?
He scored 3 from open play in 32 appearances last season for a reasonable La Liga side. Did you miss my question about his strengths? I’m intrigued since you’ve seen so much of him. edit: don’t worry, seemingly better informed posters have given decent summaries above.
Was starting to worry we hadn't been discussing Newcastle's transfer activity enough but glad to see we're covering it this morning
Rangers reaching the champions league has left a little nervous I have to say. Likely to invest somewhere you would imagine...
Think it would take serious money for us to entertain any offer for Stewart he is absolutely vital to how we play, borderline Impossible to replace for me
However well we see Stewart he's currently just a young lad with experience in the lower leagues and still learning his game. His finishing isn't great as was demonstrated by his miss at Stoke. He may be seen as 'one for the future' at Rangers but he's not what they need right now, especially in the Champions League. Sunderland have virtually built a team around him which Rangers wouldn't/couldn't do ... ... I think this is one season too early for him to leave imo.
He’s not one for the future, he’ll be 27 by the start of next season. He’d be signed as serious competition but probably not necessarily as first choice if Rangers or even a premier league bottom half side went for him. Still think his best chance of playing top flight football for a decent club is with us but have to e realistic, if any premier league side wants him it’ll be practically impossible to keep him.
In terms of experience and expertise I'd have to disagree, he's still obviously learning his game. His goal at Stoke was the result of out running a 40 year old defender, the shot was poor and lucky to get past a dodgy keeper. I doubt he'd have scored that in the PL tbh. Someone may take a chance on him and we'd move on ... ... I personally don't like relying on one player like him or Wyke for example.
