£200k apparently. Cheaper than Tom Nichols!

Previous reports were that they wanted a million for him as under contract, decent player who they don't need to sell. £200k would be a steal.

He’s not featured for them this season due to clearly wanting out.

He’ll be a Gashead by this weekend.

His work rate the season we had him on loan was tremendous, he never stopped trying which was more than could be said of some of the players we had back then

McCormick was much better than Nicholson or Thomas. A real match winner. Hope they get that deal over the line. It sounds as though there's just a few more details to sort out. I wonder who the other four or five signings will be? I guess they'll all be loans from Championship or even Premiership clubs, and hopefully good 'uns. It would be great if Cole Stockton turned up! It was rumoured that he was only going to Fleetwood, so there might be a chance there. Looking forward to seeing who turns up now.

When asked about his return to Rovers, Luke said:
"It feels amazing. I'm delighted to be back. My time here was personally a brilliant one that ended in disaster. Obviously not being able to play in front of the fans and then being relegated. To be back during the spot the club is in and where the gaffer, his staff and the players have put the club in is immense and I'm excited to be a part of that and really kick on and show the love back to the fans."

    Joey Barton said:
“There were few positives to come out of my first few months at Rovers and the relegation into League two, but without doubt Luke McCormick was one. His effort and ability were clear to see when throughout that period he gave everything for our course in a tough time. I’m delighted to be able to bring him back to Rovers permanently. We are keen to sign good people and good players and he is both. He will be a superb addition to our group.”

    Wael Al-Qadi said:
“I’m really pleased to welcome Luke back to Rovers. It doesn’t seem to be a secret that we’ve been keen to bring him back to Rovers for some time. He’s an exciting talent and a great character and I’m sure the Gasheads will agree that it’s been worth the wait. I’m looking forward to watching him in the Blue and White Quarters as a permanent member of our team!”

We need around 5 signings in the next 30 hours! I'm not convinced that will happen.

Another CB, a couple of wingers, a full back or two......

I'm surprised how few loan signings we've made, considering the success we had with our loanees last term. We got great performances out of them and they returned to their parent clubs far better players.

We are about to sign Sylvester Jasper, a winger, from Fulham on loan and Josh Coburn, a striker, from Middlesborough.

Both sound decent. But we do need some defenders now and quick!

Bristol Rovers are pleased to announce the signing of 20-year-old Sylvester Jasper on a season-long loan from Premier League side Fulham.

The winger joined Fulham in 2012 and made his professional debut for The Cottagers in January 2020 during Fulham's FA Cup clash against Manchester City. Sylvester would go on to sign his first professional contract with Fulham in August 2020.

His most successful spell, came in August 2020 when he played for League Two side Colchester. Where Sylvester went on to 18 games for the Essex-based side scoring two goals during his six-month loan spell. Jasper played against Rovers during our 1-1 draw against Colchester last season.

To further develop his career, Sylvester joined Scottish team Hibernian in January 2022 on a six-month loan deal. The young Englishman would go on to play 16 games for Hibs.

    Joey Barton said,
“It’s no secret we’ve been in the market for wide players and Syl fits the profile of what we’ve been looking for. He’s a young, hungry, dynamic winger and I hope he will excite our fans with his style of play.”

Bristol Rovers are thrilled to announce the loan signing of striker Josh Coburn from Championship side Middlesbrough.

The 6ft 3in forward, 19 began his career at Sunderland spending five years in their academy before joining Middlesbrough in September 2019. Josh would later sign his first professional contract in September 2019.

Josh would make his debut for Middlesbrough in their 2-1 win against Rotherham United in April 2021 and scored his first goal in his next game with a brilliant header in Boro's 3-1 victory against Sheffield Wednesday. More recently, Josh scored the winning goal for Middlesbrough against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup to take Boro through to the Quarter-Finals.

    Joey Barton said:
“We are delighted to add Josh to the group and are confident he will add a different dimension to our attacking options. He’s someone we’ve been tracking for a while. He’s not fit enough at the minute, he’s coming off the back of a bit of an injury but we think he’ll be somebody who will complement our frontline. A really physical boy for his age. He’s just missing that last little bit and we feel we can give him that opportunity, which is games and regular rhythm and playing time. He’s just missing, for me, a regular run in the team. Otherwise, I think he’d be pushing hard to start at Middlesbrough."

    More from Barton on Jasper...

"It’s tricky taking young attacking players because they usually don’t have loan experience, but to be fair to Syl he’s gone to Hibernian and had a scrap in the Scottish Premier League and he’s done a little bit at Colchester. He’s got that bit of experience. It’s not his first time going out on loan. That will stand him in good stead. He’s a London boy, South West London. Bristol to South West London isn’t as far as you could go with a loan and we’re hoping he can come in and make an impact. He looks lively, he looks like somebody who is going to be good in those tight spaces and has pace and the ability to go past people. I do feel we’ve been lacking that in the building this year so he comes in and hopefully he can give us a boost in that department."
