But West Ham are apparently interested as well. He isn’t a bad player but he just doesn’t seem to fit how we want to play / defend

Haven't they signed two CBs already in Aguerd and Kehrer?

Yes. Aguerd is injured. Still don’t know why they’d want another one. But I did see it earlier.

Bournemouth attendance vs Arsenal today 10,200? Seriously? Are they doing work at the stadium?

Forest looking a real handful. For a new squad they look pretty well organised.

Sounds like Villa have won the race for Sarr.

Could go either way for Gerrard. It gives him another attacking option to potentially bring them success, but it presumably also increases the expectations/demands of the owners.

(Not that Villa exactly need more attacking options. Gerrard couldn't even fit Coutinho or Ings into his starting XI today. Their wages must be on the high side - and if you're apparently good enough that you can leave players like that on bench, what are you doing losing to Palace?)

Oh good, another player who operates best in the space behind/beside the strikers.

Hint: try sorting your defence out and finding a way to fit your existing forward options together

They beat Everton by putting out a perfectly rational lineup: Watkins/Ings up top, Coutinho in the space behind them. They followed that up by dropping two of those players and then signing another forward.

While it doesn't make sense to me, if it results in them playing a seven-attacker lineup, I'm all for it. There isn't enough innovation in modern football, and a 4-0-7 would be pretty novel.

I Klopp has mooted that Liverpool are award the points tomorrow if a fan's protest causes the match against Man Utd to get abandoned. I am hoping that he gets pulled back a peg or too. Fingers crossed for a Man Utd that seriously dents Liverpool's champions ambitions.

The mere suggestion from him that his side just be awarded points for nothing is insane to me. It’s just not sportsmanlike at all. He should be warned that it isn’t his place to make such comments. But he has got away with stuff like this for years now. Ferguson used to as well but I don’t think as much because I remember him actually getting fined at times which Klopp doesn’t seem to - he is Teflon unless actually sent off by a ref in a match.

    Just caught up with MOTD.
That pass by Pickford, for the Everton equaliser, was superb.

He got away with one earlier. Not this time. Awful from Mendy.

Koulibaly will do well to survive the 90 minutes.

The way Leeds have started the season that point we snatched last week is looking better and better.
