I used to go to "The Church" in Acton back in the day. Absolutely mental Sunday lunchtime drinking with those doing the "Overseas Experience" . Had an Aussie singer in the band I was in at the time. Mid 80's

Morning all. Overcast, but no rain is forecast. One of the large regional cycle races is on in this area today, so when I went on the bread run found that the road had been closed. This was when a little local knowledge came in useful as I went around the barriers, while other cars were confused with two diversion signs pointing in different directions. One would take you around the race with a 10 kilometre addition to your journey, while the other would take you out into open countryside without an obvious way back to your destination. Follow diversion signs here at your peril, they can suddenly stop. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

I'm not sure where to post this, so it's here.
We've just spent a few days in Scotland.( Mrs J T is slowly coming out of her clinical depression - in fact the meds are now holding her back. But at least it's the right direction. A trip away was a bit of an ordeal). Anyway ,a few days in Kilsyth with son and Portuguese grandson and then a few days in Inveraray with both sons and families.
I took my bike and rode along Loch Fyne and around Inveraray - pleasant. Especially around Inveraray with 7 y-o granddaughter. She handled rough tracks with aplomb and determination. Coming through the village, I was amazed to see ,flying in the garden of a bungalow, the largest WFC flag on a flagpole I've ever seen !
No reply from the door , but it's good to know we have 2 supporters in Scotland !

What a cheering post. I hope that you and Mrs JT can take more trips like this in the coming months.

Thankyou. I really want to get to see our little cottage in the Haute Charente - maybe late September , but vibes aren't positive enough yet. Still, I can get to WFC matches more often now. Went to Deepdale yesterday with son & elder grandson. He's still buzzing from being given Kamara's shirt at Turf Moor last February. Even better that we beat The Clarets recently, as all his school friends are from solid Burnley families !

Lovely story JTB - but I'm sure you already knew we had at least two supporters here - myself and Scully. I know of two in Motherwell, three in Aberdeen, one in Inverurie and another in a little village in Moray called Lhanbride.

The biggest surprise I've had since living here was the 2006 play off final. Not having Sky, I visited a pub in Banff which had advertised that they were screening it. - walked into the public bar thinking I'd be the only Watford fan there, only to find a dozen sitting around the tables near the TV. An enjoyable couple of hours followed...

Morning all. Totally overcast and light rain expected this afternoon. A weekend free of sales calls , but they have started again. I wonder why in this current age nothing tells them I do not answer unless I know the number. I do feel a bit for those who are trying to sell something genuine, but there are also others with scams that defraud those who are unaware. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Morning all. Grey and dreary currently, but the sun is expected later. You may have seen the TV programme "Countdown". Well it exists here in a slightly different format, known as "Des chiffres et des lettres". A daily production,"une situation d'une rare violence" has arisen as the producers are wishing to only transmit the show at weekends, and cut the presenters pay by 60%. One has been with the show for 47 years and is not a happy man. The news is rather different here from that in the UK, but for lovers of this programme, just as gloomy. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Xing Chao as they say out in these here parts. Been a rather warm 36° "feels like 45" today so we've stayed up at the hotel rooftop pool and bar until just now. Only ventured into the sun three times for a total 25 minutes total and I've possibly overdone it. Hmmm.
Out later for a boat trip, a craft brew bar on the outskirts of the old town and dinner either back at our excellent hotel or somewhere else if we can find a suitable place. A day of R+T thus far.
Vespa tour tomorrow morning, apparently one of the things to do here. The way folks drive here is an education. Main rule of the road seems to be don't hit anything.
    Have a great day all.

Morning all. Bright with just a few light clouds overhead, but the man from the météo says we should expect storms and rain this afternoon. Yesterday as I went past the town campsite, the regulars that appear each year for about six weeks were packing up. Since they were here a year ago several new enterprises have opened. A baker is now in town again after a couple of years without one. A bistro has opened in what was one of the many bars and a shop selling handicraft materials is also open now. The main restaurant is still shut despite the council looking to take it over. The costs of bringing it up to date were just too much, so it is on the market again. With the property market once again attracting the Brits the slow decline has maybe turned the corner. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

People usually do this in a Ferrari on YouTube. Shame on you, just trying to impress your young mates. I hope you lose your licence.

I did have plans. Some minor house repair, and the pool is green! :emoticon-0111-blush I might go and sort it in the rain anyway, but I like to have bluetooth headphones on and listen to stuff, but don’t want to inadvertently ruin them in the rain. So I’ll have to be out there with only my thoughts to keep me company - anything could happen. <yikes>
