Nice, Jackson scores. He celebrates by removing his shin pad from his sock and giving it a kiss, not a clean finish obviously but it went in.
Aluko drives forward with great energy and helps Morsy and then Jacko get a simple tap in. 3 nil. Better today, against a weak team.
Brilliant result, confidence flowing through the team. These last two wins are games we would have drawn or lost last season. Happy days boys!!
Get the **** in!! Another win, staying top. momentum and confidence building. Happy again today with another strong performance and result to put the league on alert.
Very comfortable win, easier than we thought, all round very good performance. What a difference from last season's start! Again, terrific away support.
Barnsley got tonked 3-0 at home to Wycombe, great time to get them down to a packed out Portman road on Saturday!!
We’ve built on the second half of last season. Where we couldn’t finish moves off, we’ve got that down now. There are a handful of other sides we shouldn’t underestimate - promotion or no promotion, I’m so happy with where the club is headed. It’s fun and exciting to watch Town again. We are not starved for goals anymore - we score some brilliant goals. We’ve got the balance of loans and signing our own players right. We’ve got some excellent players of our own and then we bring in John Jules for the icing on the top who is a hell of a player. Look what happens as soon as Evans is out the door.
Obviously a long way to go and a great set of results for us. It feels different from the other 2 starts we've had like this because the quality and depth of the squad we have unlike a couple of years ago when we were rotating to try and get our crocks or youngsters through the season. It feels like this rotation is much like when Burely used to do it, keep the core of the team change it abit around the edges dependant on the opposition and individuals who come in are almost equally as good as those who they replace. Only seen the highlights but all the goals look of a very high quality, great passing and movement. I'm struggling to think of negatives but if I could there's a couple of positions I think we'd struggle if we got injuries 1 Morsy and 2 in the central striker position although given how we play I suspect we could get away with playing a false 9. Additionally I'd love to see us score a goal from a set piece or a cross where one of our players gets on the end of something just to see some variety in our goals we currently appear to score 2 types of goal 1 through individual quality and 2 from a cut back.
I wouldn't be too concerned if us and Posh can put a bit of ground between us and the following pack.I'd take second place at the drop of a hat.
Lethal, but at the same time they’re depending a lot on a couple of players. We’ve got goals from all over the park and a lot of strength from the bench so injuries won’t affect us as much.
Not sure I remember how to process 4 wins in a row and undefeated in 5. So, naturally, I've begun looking for the pitfalls. The reasons to doubt the continued success. Has the fixture list been kind to us - most of who we've beaten are currently bottom 6? Or a we the genuine outfit this year?
Just watched a re-run of the match on iFollow (most of it anyway,I skipped a few chunks). If we can play like that, good in spells but not supremely dominant and come away with a 3-0 win things look hopeful for when we hit full stride.
