I don’t think it’s that simple. I think we were excellent against Coventry first half but succumbed to the pace of the game and a lack of experience showed. Against QPR I thought we were excellent for 80 mins but again showed we didn’t yet have the fitness levels to keep going in this league for the full 90. Tiredness makes players make stupid mistakes. I think we’re gradually getting used to what this league is about and we’re starting to step up. I would hope the home form improves in terms of results as we get into the next few weeks but in terms of the football we’ve played at home, especially in the first halves, I’ve been more than happy with what I’ve seen.
Probably irks a bit. “I’m shocked they found one,” said Roy Keane, when we asked him about his player, Clive Clarke, suffering a heart attack. “You could never tell the way he plays.” It was a mic drop moment among many during Keane’s box-office 28 months as Sunderland boss.
Ha Ha the entitlement of some of these championship teams man. "Getting beat off a ****e Sunderland team who were in league one last season." Ha we've played far better teams than Stoke in League One. They should try it might toughen them up a bit. Unless teams wise up there will be a whole lot more getting beat off a ****e Sunderland team.
re: my earlier post about who liam delap reminded me of...jonathan woodgate. ...and after looking up some pictures, well make your own minds up people.
I'm not having that like. QnP were a one off, the likes have never been seen again. Knock down, SKP on the end of it or Quinny ripping international defenders new arseholes.
Did anybody see them banners at the match today? Sunderland AFC - Newcastle branch Sunderland AFC then something about Tyneside. Sunderland takes over everywhere we gooooo.
Had to miss today, been at a boxing event. What a result though. Away wins are massive in higher leagues and a clean sheet. It now looks a very good start to our campaign. I fancied us at the start to make top 6. Everything I have seen so far makes me think that is very much possible. I also wouldnt mind a few quid on LND getting 20 league goals again, that man is a proper centre forward. The trick now is to bring in players that fit the mentality and team spirit we have. I think that is something we have in abundance, so key to make sure we do nothing to erode it. I have trust in AN to get everything right though.
Glad AN mentioned how good Cirkin was in his post match interview. Think he’s been absolutely quality since he came in and won’t have anyone say otherwise. Remember having a full blown argument with a clown who sat behind me last season who was giving him ****e every game saying he was nowhere near good enough. Looks so comfortable on the ball for a young lad who’d never played blokes football before last season and defensively is solid. If we had a right footed Cirkin on the other side of the pitch I’d be over the moon.
Great win that. The officials done their best to spoil it though. Don’t think the linesmen had a clue at times and even when right on top of things they were waiting for decisions from the ref who was much further away.
