All politics is futile. If voting made a difference they wouldn't let us do it.

Brexit bonus: EU red tape rescinded. Allowing us to pump as much sewage as we like into the sea legally.

You do know that the EU have relaxed loads of their environmental rules to cope with the current crisis don't you? As we left the EU, the UK tightened a lot of ours in line with what we initially wanted, but the EU declined, as they couldn't meet them.

Another bit of project fear that turned out to be lie, and yet another example of your lack of knowledge.

What I do know is the seas around Britain are awash with stuff remarkably similar in make up to most Brexitards.

They didn’t let us do it - grass roots movements from the Chartists to the Suffragettes had to fight for the right to vote.

Now ‘they’ just concentrate on brainwashing the electorate. Whip up hatred against unions, civil servants, teachers, foreigners, gays etc., and the spanners can be persuaded to vote for the toffs who have been robbing and exploiting us all for centuries.

I'm in agreement with you and ALDO on this.

My question is, why the grass roots on the left in particular still seem to want to stoke division, rather than losing the limitations of their political ideology, which I doubt the party represents anyway, and look to see the common grounds between us all?

I heard another comment from Rishi recently in another one those PM debates they have, as they tour the country, trying to get the few that can vote on their side.

I think you might appreciate this one...

Rishi was saying something about on Universal Credit that ppl working 7 hours a week or it might have been 9 or some other random low figure (because I don't know the rules around it), that he was going to raise that number of hours dramatically, as the current number deemed ppl as 'employed' - 'in work' or whatever other term someone wants to attach to it.

But....I was like, hang on who created the UC rules, because that in it's current form I believe has only been around under the Tories, because Labour would scrap it.

So why was the figure set so low in the first place, I know you need people back in work now, but at the time the rule was set...I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this by now Archers....the reason it was set so fooking low, because you wanted to massage the figures for the number of people in work.

Now rather than things like parties blah blah blah, that's the sort of thing that is a vote loser to me, because he's trying to mug us off.

I am categorically not in favour of anything that divides ordinary working people against each other. That’s the oligarchs game, setting black against white, Muslims against Christians against Jews, gay against straight. Don’t fall for any of it.

Basically, what the likes of Rishi and Truss want for British workers, is a work environment where less people do more work for less money, have less holidays, no sick pay, crap pensions, and can be laid off at zero pay on zero hours contracts at a moment’s notice. Whenever you hear the word efficiency applied in an industrial context, that’s what they mean. As for in work benefits, that’s just the state subsidising the profits of bad employers; pay working people a proper wage and they won’t need benefits

Brexit seems to gave worked quite well though doesn't it? Kid up the uneducated portion of the population that some beastly foreigners are taking advantage of them so that you ( people like Rees Mogg) can take advantage of the poor sots to make more billions.

I think that while there'll be disagreement on some aspects, I reckon most people would agree on the fundamental needs and basic content for policies in key areas. It'd make an interesting series of conversations.

Let's try to start with equality. I reckon most would agree that we should all have equal opportunity, but as Thomas Sowell points out, "If there is not equality of outcomes among people born to the same parents and raised under the same roof, why should equality of outcomes be expected—or assumed—when conditions are not nearly so comparable?"

So equality of opportunity: How do you see that playing out, and which indices do you think would be good measures for that?

The problem is though Archers, farmers as in land owners are one of my biggest gripes at the mo. They keep moaning they can't get the workers, but I've actually taken the trouble to look at some of the jobs offered, by some of the named farmers complaining in the media, just as way of research.

One such case was a farmer, wanted the workers to start early in the morning and work long hours, they also had to work six days out of seven, and then came a list of a load of other criteria, heavy lifting blah blah blah, the point I make is that is exactly the work criteria that someone like yourself would complain of Rishi and Truss wanting.

The sort of workers that were previously abused in the same way and we turned a blind eye to it, because it kept food prices low. It's a double edged sword.

I worked in the fields when I was young, to be fair it was a decent days work, I even knew people in full time jobs, that would go work in the fields for a bit of 'holiday' money - it wasn't those ppl that stopped working, it was the farmers no longer wanted them, because they knew they could abuse the labour of those coming from offshore., thus in turn again creating an environment that both you and I are against, but just look at maybe from different angles.

One for reporters, why when they write a story of a farmer complaining he can't get the labour, why don't they attach the job that was advertised to their report, there's a reason for that, as I've just explained above. Let the media start there with the job description, hours and salary, when writing a story, afterall for what reason wouldn't you, hmmm...

Farmers abuse animals, so they certainly wouldn't care about the ills of a human.

Farmers are always moaning, but when my ex dragon’s family had a caravan in the middle of farming country near Blackpool, all those farmers seemed to be building themselves villas, and parking brand new 4x4s outside them.

I picked apples one summer in Kent over 40 years ago, was piecework and the pay was crap unless you were an octopus who’d been doing the work your whole life

Pish! Suffrage was only ever about appeasement. Very little has changed in the 600 years the same people own all of the wealth. They set up the system to suit them and nobody else. There has been nothing meaningful done in that time to try and redistribute that wealth apart from communism and look how that worked out.

Nah mate you're chattle. We all are. Them throwing you crumbs don't make you any better off than the ******s in the field. They own you and nothing short of a global revolution is ever going to change that.

Especially an X on a bit of paper electing another puppet government.
