Someone posted on the liverpool board (and it's a fair point) that to play the high press which Ten Hag wants, we need a goalie who is comfortable out of his goal as a sweeper when defenders are playing the high line (which obv De Gea doesn't).

Proper news from impeccable sources - Sir Jim Ratcliffe is considering a buy out of Manchester United. Now, if like me you own shares, this is another hike in the share price after Musk's **** about on twitter during the week - but this has some real substance to it. The GG's are looking to offer a minority shareholding offer (according to Bloomberg) and SJR has been sniffing around the Knighton announcement earlier in the week. Hopefully there is some substance to the talk and the GG's might accept an offer to sell. Hallelujah

Only wish that could be true. But the GGs would not sell unless at a silly premium like 100%) as they’ve used Utd as the Golden Goose. And doubled/trebled their fortune as well as being famous as Utd owners.

Just heard from Sky that Utd have officially withdrawn their offer for DeJong. Meaning that they now think that DeJong could be on his way to Chelsea or less likely, staying put. I and a few here did warn that the whole saga stank from day one and it looked doomed when the player seemed so unenthusiastic.

There is no “well done” here! We have completely shot ourselves in the foot with a porous strategy that was beyond flawed from the get go. We acted as though time was on our side when it never was. We over-analyzed another club’s finances and started playing chess. It is sad for all us!

Sky regurgitate other media reports. Usually either reputable sources or complete and utter bullshit from the likes of The Sun.

There's not been any mention of this from reputable sources so it's likely regurgitated tabloid bollox.

What I am reading from Ornstein (who is one of the more reliable sources) is that we've made a loan enquiry for Pulisic <laugh> <doh>

We’ve been linked with everyone and anyone that can kick a ball this week. It’s becoming hilarious at this point.

Tbh I've got over my initial frustration about the CM and CF we should've addressed in this transfer window.

I think it's now time to get behind the manager, under difficult conditions, so that he has the full support of the fans... because to be honest he's going to need it <ok>

Agree that the manager needs our support now more than ever. Especially as the window is rapidly closing with us possibly missing the top replacements he wanted. If that happens he’ll be forced to blood academy players sooner than he wanted.

Having said that I hope that CR if he stays will not be disruptive. If he is then life will be even more difficult for TH and I’ll be rather disappointed . Yes it’s not all his fault but I would have thought he would have appreciated more all the efforts the club has made to satisfy his wishes.

The whole "telling the truth in 2 weeks" thing is weird and has not helped anyone. Say what you've got to say and say it now.

CM is a must and imo another CB. CF for me is not a problem, we are capable of creating enough chances for the players we have (plus Ronny if he stays).
Maybe a new RB would be be beneficial too but again not a first priority.

I agree that we need to support the manager. However, let’s not confuse support for manager being the fix lack of depth in the squad. I would personally like him to unleash the youth team.

I don't disagree about the other positions but we definitely needed a CF. We create chances but can't score for ****.

Martial hopefully will do well, but we can't rely on him solely and a 37 year old CR.

TBH i don't want a 30 goal per season striker, if he get's injured (or marked out of games) your'e ****ed.
    I would much prefer 4 or 5 10+ goal per season attackers/players.

EDIT..........having both would be nice <laugh>
