Not really but Neil controlled it like it was a rugby ball tbh.

It was a mistake. A costly one, but he'll learn from it. Those who cry pout for young players to get a chance are the same ones who castigate them and jump on their backs at every opportunity.

Anyway, the goAL was Patterson fault apparently, as we're the two he conceded against QPR, so I'm just going to boo him from now on - it might make my life feel better

09 has been good tonight. This is definitely his best position.

I'm not seeing it with Patterson. The lad has been great since he come in, including this season. He makes one questionable decision and it's time to send him on loan to a lower league? Not for me.

Patterson only has to share blame for the goal alongside Batth.

I want my tall senior Center back wanting to win that ball rather than watch it and hope one of the midgets behind him does.

but a good keeper is already behind him catching it.

i dont want to criticise patterson. hes just been overpromoted too quickly.

4 yards out. The vast majority mate. All pro keepers watching that on performance analysis will see that as their error.

Come and went back, flight path of ball within 6 yard box. It's why they call that area "their house".

So disappointing this but we were the better side.

I can’t see us getting anything tonight now but we’ve already shown we can hold our own.

A few players in and we’ll be ok.

I have to admit, I want my keeper claiming balls in their 6 yard box. It takes the pressure off at times

Some predictable comments on here. Dan Neil made a mistake and its cost us. Seems to me though some are waiting for him to make mistakes to dig him out. This talk of him not being good enough for this level is daft, or that he cant do the basics, or that he is invisible. Mind boggling stuff, but each to their own opinions I suppose.

As to the game I thought we were good until the red card. So yes I am disappointed in Neil tonight. But we are weak on set pieces into our box, and I mean really weak. That suggests, to me at least, a coaching issue. If you agree goalkeeper is the hardest position to learn, he has been on a very steep curve. I am a fan of his, and he will be very good I think, but his reading of crosses from high looks a real weakness. We arent out of it, but we need Pritchard to play 90 mins for once and him to find something for the front 2.

If the ball was on the pen spot I agree. The fact it lands 4 yards out. No excuse ever. I mean ever , unless he is checked by the opposing player.

Play the same defence and attack but ignore the midfield ...

... defend properly and we'll get at least one chance in the game.

Neil will set us up right for the second half, Ha’way!!!

wouldn’t boo them. It’s not their fault they’re not ready. But also saying it’s okay for our first eleven to not be good enough just because their young is silly.

sure, it gives them a mitigation for their mistakes. But it doesn’t change the fact they’re not good enough (yet). And it should be pointed out.

We could very easily play all our youngsters and let them learn and develop loads for a crack at promotion back to the championship next season if we wanted to.

Would leave the team as is for second half, best chance of getting equaliser as we still look a threat.

Scared of claiming high balls. Evidence is there.

Not me but his contribution is in the negative so far this season.

I want every player to improve and be great, he's not doing the basics right which aren't compensated for by touches of brilliance.

well my half time was going to be me saying dan neil and cirkin need to wake up and be aware of what is round them, cirkin was probably one such instance but dan neil continued, no idea what he did with the ball, he seemed to be trying to 'fool' the lad behind him but he never fell for it, when you are last defender you do not feck with the ball, some will say he is a young lad and will learn but his two previous 'tackles' were not good either, similar to him hoofing the ball out after giving away that corner even though you can see patterson give a clear shout not 10 yards away from him.

until the red card we looked more than comfortable and possibly edged the game, makes the sending off even worse...good to see A.N. has not gone all out defensive though, let's see if/how he changes it at half time.

Ive always been unconvinced with Patterson since Wycombe away last season.

    So weak on set pieces.

Already cost us 2 goals from set pieces in 4 games this season.

Or we can discuss it and hope we get better to ensure our progress in the league.

I don't care about age etc. It's a business and professional football.
