i don’t think that he’s repeating the Dortmund error. We’ve been buying young regularly and have a wealth of young talent now….maybe not all quite ready but nearly there….Elliott, Carvalho, Nunez, Diaz….to name a few. I think though, that we are in transition and that it will be evident this year.
I see Everton are trying to loan Dele Alli out to Turkey..........the place where pro's at the end of their days go to die. He's only 26 ffs............was he ever any good?
I said from the beginning he wasn't. Yeah, he scored a few goals by being in the right place at the right time but I could see there wasn't much else. Never understood the hype.
Think he did fall victim to Mourinho a bit as well. Wasn't a Mourinho type player so was basically dumped on the scrap heap and left to rot, instead of someone getting a hold of him and putting him on the right path.
My view on delle alli is similar to cesc fabregas. Both player were pushed forward and indulged by managers., poch and winger. Alli could finish fine but he wasn't coached to be a proper cm driving up and down the park. All he wants to do is stand about and others deliver to him. The right path imo was missed prior to mourinho, he just dumped the spoiled brat. True greats do the work.
big time Charlie. Started to believe his own hype, got big money and then thought he didn’t have to try hard, spending more time acting like Bertie big bollox than he did as a footballer. When their careers are over, there will be a list of such players; Alli, Rashford, Lingard, Greenwood…..such a waste…
You've hit the nail squarely on the head there. Rashford will be gone from utd too. Can't believe he'd be thick enough to go to psg or they are thick enough to bid.
True. But a proper manager could have done something. JM decided he wasn't his type of player and didn't really bother to get him to work.
I don't like Mourinho but he knows what he's doing and recognises a player. He saw Alli wasn't good enough
he also saw that the culture at Utd was rotten to the core. My estimation of him has only increased since he left Utd - he spelt it out for the owners…..and they backed the players
Ali was a quality player. Saying he scored goals just by being in right place as if it’s a bad thing? That’s like saying Alison only saves the ball cos he’s in the right place to get in the way No doubt he lost his way, but for 2/3 years at spurs when he won back to back young player of the year guy was absolutely brilliant. Poch found a position for him in that 10 role behind Kane.
Never said it was a bad thing, said it glazed over the fact that that was all he had. Same with Bruno at Man Utd, without set-pieces, he's ****.
Scoring goals is the most important part of football though? It’s like saying Ronaldo doesn’t do anything but has 500 career goals?
Keita apparently unhappy with current situation at liverpool according to sky Germany. id suggest he get fit and he’ll get a game in that case, especially atm! However does then say that relationships are all good and Liverpool aren’t aware that the player is unhappy.
Just think people are forgetting how good he was. His link up was great, he got around the pitch well and obviously scored goals. He had a bit of an edge to him as well so wasn’t afraid to get stuck in. His form ironically dipped when that streak was coached out of him imo. people got onto him about having nasty streak, getting too many yellow etc and he seemed to ease off
I have been on the fence about Naby for a long time now. He is having doubts also. I think I am now prepared to buy a second hand taxi and drive him the fcuk wherever he wants to go
