Leon Best

His all round striker play is really improving lately. He wins so many headers for us! And he is good at bringing people into play. Been doing very well lately without the goals.

I'm suprised at how many headers he wins considering he's not exactly lanky.

Then again he is the strongest man in PL football.

 

I'm struggling to word this, but he just looks a proper footballer. Even when he wasn't firing in the Championship he had decent feet, and despite not being the quickest he's really decent at beating a man and getting in on goal. I know Pardew sees Ba as the man to help out midfield, but when its the other way round Best is very useful when he's got someone ahead of him and could easily be the Beardsley for Ba. Not sure where that leaves Ben Arfa, but competition is good!

Oh, and Trappatoni is clearly mental. As Leon himself said, he picked him when he was playing **** for Coventry, but won't pick him playing well in 3rd in the Premier League? Favouring an injured Shane Long? Ireland...

 

That's the thing. We're beating teams with Ben Arfa, Santon and Marveaux on the bench.

 

Exactly, and the three are professionals, they will understand that they will have to wait and work for their chance and will no doubt be happy at the great atmosphere around the club. If they aren't then they're not the type of players we want at this club. They will all come good though I'm sure of it.

Good to see Best getting some credit. Couldn't believe some people were moaning about his performances after he hadn't scored in couple of games, I must have been watching different football matches because I think he has been consistently terrific, unselfishly running the channels and bullying defenders while exhibiting a great touch and ability to hold up the ball. Love Besty.

 

I seen him in town and was surprised how big he actually is, on the tele he looks smaller but he isnt

 

He is 6ft 1in which is taller than he looks. Agree, he has improves so much since he started getting a run in the team

 

I thought he'd be around there but its great to see him winning headers on people with a few inches on him.

 

Yeah definetly, unlike 6ft 7in Crouch, who couldn't care less by the looks of things lol

 

Same with everyone, they are all doing brilliantly.. apart from perch & Smith, but everyone needs their worst players.
