I genuinely do not understand how the club cannot cobble together some ticket office staff - even if they employed a generic Call Centre to handle all the incoming enquiries and get back to people in 48 hours - at least that will calm the tide to a degree. It really cannot be THAT hard to employ an Ops Manager to set this all up. I f I wasn't contracted elsewhere I'd be on the blower to the club to offer my services
Generic pap. "Working to improve" is just a gabblemouth phrase . The sort of thing jargon eaters say to each other so they can pretend that they are actually doing something. The problems off the pitch are so deep and so entrenched that they cannot be solved without wholesale changes to staff at all levels. Any organisation which has allowed inertia, complacency and low standards to become the norm needs new people, not banal cheap words. The place needs someone who insists on the highest standards, enforced by advising anyone who cannot do a great deal better that they might be working in the wrong job. It is a rudderless ship.
i have just approached SD, i await his reply, if i do not get an answer by lunch time tomorrow i will speak to Kyril direct.
Im sure it's just that SD wasn't fully aware of the problems and issues, wasn't that the last bullshit excuse he came out with at the supporters meeting? Bloke needs binning
If I am remember right you said you were aware of him through your job, was a director af the company you work for iirc? You said he was very well thought of and very good at his job, it was a big surprise that he was leaving for SAFC in the circles you work in and you said you were more surprised we went for him as despite all the positive things about him the job was no where near his expertise or experience so was a big risk? At least think that was you
Bob not sure how much influence but this really needs addressing - at present it is on boards like this where the main discussions are occurring but it is clear that more channels are being used and the negative publicity will hurt - especially following the great feeling at the end of last year. I witnessed a few people on Saturday having issues with season tickets entering the East Stand. Surely someone in a senior role can see this and the effect it is having The club need to stop approaching this like below and nip this before losing goodwill please log in to view this image
Close - I worked with his company a lot so asked a few of my contacts at that company about him. I'd never heard of him myself. But his role profile and job history is there for all to see on LinkedIn. He has no background in working for let alone running a public facing company. Everything he does it working with other suppliers or developers or landowners or government etc. Never public.
And that's the main problem right there. He is all about profit/loss and the balance sheet and clueless on the engagement side of things. They would be much better off if they got Tony Davison back, he had experience from Spurs and is a MLF.
