    Ah, bugger.
Wtf is going on? We can't get going. Lethargic in game one, game of errors in game 2, albeit with more effort.

Klopp will turn it around, but how far behind will we be by that time?

Gomez was an injury worry apparently and they didn't think he'd last the match.

Salah had how many chances he shot well wide? 3/4.

Diaz only got one run at them. Beat 5 and scored, all night running away from goal.

Nunez... just ****e. Got 3 chances and ****ed them all stumbling over them then headbutt.

Trent was absolutely ****e where he was playing. Rubbish tactics. Too Deep playing ball or too narrow then decides he's an ace centre forward with 10men.. not even cm or trying to thread a pass to feet.

Vvd on the goal. Not bothered to run back? Plays Zaha on a second them? Wtf. Also crowd shout shoot so you leather one in the stand ffs.

Very poor until red card and then we go and play a bit.

Terrible start to the season. Pep will be delighted. We needed a good win tonight and we got that. You have to score when you are on top like we were but a sucker punch goal and we were struggling.

    What a disappointment.

Salah is not getting the ball as much as before. I wonder if Nunez starting is now affecting him getting the ball and in turn will effect his goal return.

Nunez worries me, people compare him to Torres, but Torres was an elite finisher. Nunez scuffs everything.

Add his double head butt to that and is just **** all round.

Probably more to do with his area of the pitch being overcrowded; Salah, Elliot and Trent fighting for the inside right area

Ok. I haven't seen the game, but have seen the score accidentally so no point avoiding forum now.

This is exactly what I feared. All those underperforming games at the tail end of last season where we fluke a win is coming back to bite us. Law of averages, play badly enough times and you'll eventually drop points.

Not good enough at the moment. Two games in so may sound rash, but I'm counting this poor spell from the last three months of last season too.

My prediction this season: 4th. We'll qualify for CL again. We may win a cup, but all this madness of assuming we're locked in to a top two position. Nah. We've still got some rebuilding to do for Klopp: The Next Generation to start being a force again. 23/24 we will challenge again. This is the start of rebuilding

It is a worry but Diaz not seeing enough of the ball in positions where he can actually affect play is what worries me more.

There is a player in there, he's going to take a while to get up to speed though. Said last week that he was well off the pace despite the goal & assist (both fortunate).

Darwin doesn't bother me. He's barely got started... The team has been getting sloppy for a while now. It's not his fault... Now I haven't seen the red yet. If it's a stupid red I'll be annoyed, but it's early days yet.

The Bobby Firmino effect? Nunez is a number nine so hogs the central space. Bobby dropped deep leaving gaps for the wide players to exploit.

Yep. His movement is sublime, and he seems to have a fine touch 30 metres out with his back to the goal. He's quick, but as you say, he's not on the same planet as Torres for finishing. That said, both Mane and Salah have scuffed them too. I see parallels between Diaz and Suarez, but we're going to struggle this season if we don't put chances away. Already, I'd say City will be double digits ahead of us by Christmas, but we mustn't let Top Four be out of our touch by Christmas too.

Thought Elliott had a fine first half, but he was understandably fatigued in the second half.

Next week is a worry. Utd need a reaction and we are so flat.

If we get top 4 this season I will be happy. Other teams like Spurs and Arsenal have improved, we have gone backwards. Utd will be chuffed that we have no striker, unless we use one of the kids.

This feels like klopp decided preseason that the first games were piss easy and we would do preseason into the proper games.

    Phillips starts
    Milner starts

No gomez despite having 75% of preseason min
No henderson. **** knows why. If he could give 30mins etc.
No keita at all. Again 90% of preseason in.
    No info on firmino.

This line up felt like a preseason mix up and the side is playing like these points are not a big deal.

The season will be over before they start playing.

Maybe klopp is fixated on 2 games a week right to world cup shortly?

It's really hard to fathom how poor the decision making on where to run hard and where not to is and how trent is getting away with this indulgent ****e.

He ran there from a quasi rcm role "pressing" on a keeper when he'd no hope... but it looked god so he stood there then out of any postion ina forward type postion and never bothered to even show for a pass or whatever. I literally don't get what's going on there.

The run should be to get down the line and put good abll in but he never once did that tonight. Walked forward and played one or two in so looms an absolute star then we miss and he starts hoofing it from deeper and running into the middle.

He killed Elliott effectiveness as the lad was doing well for 20 then was relegated to the line.

The thing was robertson was starting the same ****e so I can only conclude this is some bright idea of someone that they make the runs. Robbo got in once and showed why its an awful idea.
