A good reason to finish in Europe

  1. If Jose wants success and has ambition, other than the ambition to be on higher wages, i don't blame him, but i think he would be convinced that we are moving in the right direction, if we finish 7th this season. This could also convince Tiote to stay. I know he's said he wants to stay, but for how long is the question. I don't want an extra 35 million from Tiote and Enrique to spend, i'd rather keep the players.

I personally think it's within our grasp. We play Bolton who are a point above us next, the Mackems haven't gotten the results they wanted recently, and they are coming up to a tough patch of games. We have Bolton, Everton and Stoke coming up, with Wolves, Birmingham, Blackpool and WBA still to play.

I am in no way saying any of these games will be a certain 3 points, but out of these 7 games, i think if we could get say 4 wins and 2 draws, that'd put us right up, and also keep those teams around us down. Stoke and Bolton especially, as they are right up with us. Our other four games besides that i can't really see us winning. Chelsea, Liverpewl and Villa away, Man United at home.

My predictions - (I'm bored with formation porn, i'm getting into prediction porn now)

    Newcastle 2-1 Bolton
    Newcastle 1-1 Everton
    Stoke 2-1 Newcastle
    Newcastle 2-1 Wolves
    Newcastle 3-0 Brummers :D
    Blackpool 2-2 Newcastle
    Newcastle 3-2 West Brom

Another 14 points from our next 11 games i think will just about clinch us 7th, because Sunderland will have to recover from a losing streak, and i don't think Bolton and Stoke will claim this many points from their remaining games.

Whoa, hold the phone. You're saying there are upsides to getting into Europe, and we shouldnt aspire to finish 10th?

I may need to sit down.

Everton have been poor on the road so I think we might get a win from that game. Blackpool and Stoke are dodgey away game and I think maybe just a point from each. I fancy a draw at Villa and a reckon we can do liverpool. The only games I see us loosing are Man Utd and possibly Chelsea and Stoke.

I think survival shows we are moving in the right direction and that's what was reportedly Enrique's sticking point to signing an extended contract.

Get enough points to survive and sign him up.

As for 7th. If we can still be in the hunt for a place with a few games remaining then the players should go all out to try and secure but a top 10 finish would be an astounding season for us considering we only got promoted last season.

I've always felt I was one of the more tolerant readers of your drivel. But still, my post is clearly a light hearted joke whereas you frequently hurl abuse at me and other users who dont agree with everything you say.

The attraction of European football Is also excellent for acquiring quality signings in the summer, however i feel it's out of our reach this season.

Also if we qualify for Europe does this mean we have more money to spend on transfers etc.

I'M a bit disapointed with this article, its seems a bit light. Perhaps, if you don't mind me suggesting, you could add the starting line up's for each of these next 7 games aswell.........

How on earth anyone can even start to predict scorelines after the results that have gone on so far this season is beyond me!

If you predicted that WBA would win away at Arsenal
Blackpool did the double over Liverpool
Wolves would end United's unbeaten record
    Newcastle score 6 against Villa
The Mackems lose at Home to Chelsea
    Newcastle draw 4-4 against Arsenal
Then fair enough, but i'm betting you didn't!!!

PS: see what i did there ;-)
