Given that we're all long serving and sometimes suffering fans of CCFC, we're probably all waiting for the bubble to burst. But the balloon isn't even fully inflated yet and for once, may never pop. I'm enjoying the ride so far SM for PM! On a part time basis obviously
Just watched our goal back. It was only 12 passes without a Brum player touching the ball, starting with Allsop, through midfield until the finishing touch by Philogene. C'mon SM, we should be doubling that kind of pass count before we stick the ball in the next... I want my monies worth thanks... Less of this semi-direct stuff if you don't mind
Some take too long tippy tapping and the defence is then set. Our guys seem to enjoy moving it about but with purpose. I like that!! Not that I'm any sort of expert. But it is lovely to see someone enjoying themselves and giving enjoyment. SM is very straightforward and I applaud his approach to dull questions and supporting his team......they're a fine group of lads doesn't always cut the mustard!
Having watched the full game yesterday, watched the highlights this morning. Partly to set the city website up on the firestick, partly for the hell of it, partly as I'm still trying to get to grips with all the new players. After the fayre of the last 5 and more years I have to keep reminding myself this is a Bluebirds team. I also spotted a few things I missed first time round. Kipre is one cool customer with no little skill. After CBs who got nose bleeds if they got the half way line, Kipre was regularly in the Brum half sliding passes FORWARD to city players. The best was when he was 15 yards into the brum half left of centre sliding a pin point pass into Collins on the overlap. A brave new world.
Scary good or scary bad? I'd have been bricking it if Morrison, Pack and Smithies had been doing it but feel a bit more relaxed with the current crop. So long as we dont do a 'Man U' we'll be ok.
No prima donnas amongst our guys. All for one and one for all. Strength on the bench and in reserve. All good.
There it is in a nutshell. Management, coaches, backroom staff, senior players and those learning their game, everyone committed to the vision. Happy days.
Still in the honeymoon phase. Need to carry it through the whole season. I was encouraged that Morison said their analysis of players included checking their personalities. They only wanted 'good eggs'. He is quoted as saying that everyone they recruited is first and foremost a good person. They also happen to be good footballers. Not a bad philosophy, especially when the going gets tough. Wonder what he'd have made of Robin Friday.
