Congratulations on your fantastic unbeaten start to the season.

Question for Geordies; how do you think your season would have panned out if you still had £35m Andy?

Would he have helped or hindered your cause?

best of luck with your season

    IMO No way.

Thank god we got rid of him, If we had him now, we would just hoof the ball up for him and hope for the best, and that would make some of our players ineffective.

No, Carroll was a target man who fed to Nolan. We don't seem to play that style of game anymore, i mean look at him at Liverpool. They never hoof the ball up for him to challenge in the air, i think he would be more suited at Stoke to be honest.

We were a bit of a one trick pony with Caroll though. It's so hard to say if we would be better or not. Would we be playing like we are now but with an extra talented striker? Or would be just be howking the ball up the pitch to Carroll as the basis for every attack?

no as others have said we'd be playing completely different mainly long balls up to the front for him to nod down

Had Carroll stayed would Newcastle have bought some of the players that have come in? They are better off with the £35m and Ba and Cabaye.

But say they had Carroll and the players they have now, playing the same style of football then I think they would have a formidable attack.

Carroll is a very good player and Liverpool haven't seen the best of him. Once they do they'll be impressed as although he's looked very sluggish for them at times, he is in fact a very powerful forward with surprisingly decent pace (once he gets moving) and skill on the ground, also got a hell of a left foot. Sadly it's too tempting to play one-dimensional football with him in the side as he's undoubtedly strong in the air. Whether he'll ever be worth what they paid for him though is debatable, and that's being kind.

Maiga from Sochaux is looking like a done deal though so we've got options now, we can play one striker with Ben Arfa in behind or play Ba and Best together with Sammy, Shola and Lovenkrands for cover. Ba is a goal machine always in the right place at the right time, can't believe we got him on a free, and Best despite missing out on the plaudits recently has been brilliant too, don't listen to what Trappaphoney says about him, his work rate has been sensational, bullying defenders and running the channels.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I don't miss Carroll one bit. Much rather have the 35 million quid and Demba on a free, and whichever striker comes in in January.

Couldn't agree more, his left foot is terrifyingly powerful and people don't seem to recognise this and think he is only good with the head, his left foot shots rarely miss the target. The last 3 games he has started for us he has scored in two and had a MOTM performance vs Wolves, he is not playing badly as some suggest...people assume that because he starts on the bench in some games it is due to lack of form which is not true.

His miss vs Norwich was unforgivable - I heard he phoned in sick the next day with ear ache. Clearly he doesn't give a toss about Liverpool FC, how about dog leash tries to get that muppet Downing to put a few balls into Carroll instead of trying to score every time? Who buys an aerial predator then plays through the middle? Dogleash is cracking up like old Rafa.

I never understood in the summer the people moaning about spending the "Carroll money", we'd signed Demba Ba on a free who came with one of the best goals to games ratios in all the top european leagues in the previous 4 years, but alot weren't happy because he didn't cost £20-30 mil.

Just wondering when people will stop harping on about an ex-player? He's been gone 10 months now, he hasn't set the world alight at Liverpool & don't think he would suit our style of play now. Much happier with £35,000,000,000 than Andy Carroll.

I doubt it, we played ****e football when we had him and Barton in the team. Glad they're gone, though granted I didn't say that at the time!

We would if we had of still made the same dealings because he's a good striker, but not sure we would have made the same dealings without his sale.

Agree with this, I'm sick of readin in the press about how Newcastle have had to cope with the loss of Carroll.

It was last season he went, so what we lived through it and surved without him.

We are a completly diffrent team without him, but for the better.

Do people feel the need to ask Sunlan if they think they would be a better team if they had kept Bent???

He did well for us, but that was then this is now.
    People need to move on.
