Yep. We certainly put it in early. But that's where we need good quality to guys to share the running coming off the bench. And , when and if we get them, they need using.
There are some good match highlights here from 08:30 There might even be a few Roker Enders from this forum in the video...
I saw a slow mo replay yesterday and it was a brilliant sliding block from a defender. Embo’s shot was heading into the middle of the net and the block deflected it onto the bar. Really unlucky not to score.
Yesterday I honestly think that this was down to the assault on Ballard. He made a change at 60 minutes but then could only make one more because of that prick who I hope breaks his leg for QPR next week. I think that was what caused the delay. If we got another injury or running out of steam we wouldn’t have much leeway.
He’s one of those players who you just need on the pitch really I think. He’s just too influential to let a “forced substitution” mate a difference. (Not arguing at all as it bugs me too!!)
He has in a 4 but not so much in a 3. I thought O’Nien was absolutely superb yesterday anyhow so it didn’t really matter to me
Agreed. I was in the north stand and could see what he was doing! They were basically another Wycombe. Second dirtiest I think we’ve played since leaving the premier league!
How many times does a team lose the lead in injury time, how many times does a team lose the game in injury time, these things happen week in week out. Its tears or cheers. Same old same old, Chelsea fans blaming the ref the manager and anything else they can think of.
Agree on 09. I always thought that he played his best football here as a centre half. I'd say the position suits his qualities perfectly.
Think he's trying to prove a point that the squad is not strong enough at the minute. Currently I think we have 13/14 who are good enough for this level the rest are mid table league one standard at best
Hes good with everything in front of him so a centre half in a 3 I think is his best position he struggles in centre midfield with everything going on around him
Yeah I love the bloke as a person. He’s got the best attitude you’ll see on the pitch. In midfield this season he’s been lacking. But he might need a game like yesterday to give him confidence. Still has the pleas in the ground and on social media slagging him off before he’s kicked a ball. “Not good enough” etc from around me. And would rather say nothing than say “well played Luke”.
Don't matter mate someone on the post; still woul'd have gone in, perfect free kick (think our keeper shoul'd have been more in the centre than slightley off.)
I agree O Nein did really well and I think it's his best position, not sure he sees that though. Just found the article a strange one
O'Nien does seem to do particularly well in defence but I don't agree that he can't play in midfield. I've seen him play well there many times and it looks from yesterday's performance that he can cut it at this level. Plenty of decent managers including Neil have played him in CM, maybe they know something that some don't.
I'll admit to being as surprised as anyone when he was chosen to replace Ballard yesterday when we had Wright and Alese on the bench but to be fair to him he never put a foot wrong. He's one who will definitely have a role to play this season and I have no issues at all with that. His versatility is a massive help to us an as you say due to his attitude and commitment he's one I really want to succeed.
