Yup. They aren’t great owners. Don’t think anyone is saying they are. However what made me laugh was yesterday redknapp was saying to Neville the players have to look at themselves etc. Nev responded by saying you had a go at the players at Ht, you can’t keep blaming them… The irony was totally lost on him given he’s been blaming the owners for the last 5 years The glazers don’t train the players. The glazers aren’t responsibly for tactics. Yes you can blame them for lack of investment in stadium and infrastructure, they maybe haven’t appointment the best people but they put people in place to do a job. If they haven’t done a good job they’ve replaced them. Should they get better people, yes, but they put their trust in people to buy players, appoint managers and those people have just failed.
The owners not putting anything in hasn’t stopped the significant spending, £750m over 5 years and if they get ding-dong, over £100m this season alone.
So it's just envy because no sugar-daddy has come in to buy their way back to the top? In reality they've spent just as much as others down the years, it's just been badly spent. More and more it becomes obvious that it was only Fergie that made the whole thing work. They were mediocre before him, they've been mediocre since he went.
This is the thing. When prem started they took advantage commercially more than most clubs. They then had a manager who admittedly was brilliant. They then got super lucky bringing through Nev scholes beckham giggs who first team Ready and arguebly world class along with p.Nev, o Shea, Wes brown, fletcher who were alright and good squad players. it means they could then spend huge money on 1 or 2 players each window instead of having to buy 4 or 5 lesser ones for same amount.
I'm actually worried about the quality of our own team at the moment. As last year wound down and the opening game against Fulham showed, The ability is there but we're not 100%.
Still think your a midfielder away from being the finished article. What would you give for a 25 year old Gerrard?
Player Manager or Sensible Soccer on the Amiga were my favourites. I won the league with Player Manager conceding only 3 goals
When you watch how Utd failed miserably to okay out from the back it reminds me of when Unai Emery tried to do the same at Arsenal and they failed miserably at it as well, same for Artera as well at times.
Loved Sensible Soccer. Used to play 4312 and buy Chapuisat from Dortmund; play him as the No.10 for a season, sell him for triple what I bought him for then buy him back for around the same price as I bought him initially
What a weird game of football. So many disallowed goals and var changes. a proper fluke and mess of a goal. Not sure who actually deserved to win that in the end
1-0 Chelsea. Spurs have hardly touched the ball, and Richarlison is not putting in any effort to get involved. I expect him to dive a lot if Spurs get anywhere near the Chelsea box.
All west ham fans deserve is their noses rubbed in their own poo like the dogs they are. The were to be waving fake money at lingard today. Now I'm not lingard fan bit thier chear arse club wouldn't pony 25mil for the lad after he massively improved thier fortunes so I don't know why they think they've the right when a player is offered more elsewhere.
