Have to admit Sinclair don't look like missing.Heidar Helguson takes a cool one too for us,always looks calm. But there seems to be a bit of confusion who takes for us him or Adel.Personally I think we should nominate one and if he's not on the pitch then have a "pecking order". Thought Danny Graham must be next in line for you lot surely if sinclair ain't playing
Grant Holt is a bit good at penalties and so far never missed one for us Not saying he is any better than anyone else but he take s a very mean pen
That is what normally happens. Lots of power and a high degree of accuracy, along with cool as an iceberg too
Cotterill missed two against Norwich & QPR and then Scott took over after that. Check this out for Norwich last season: http://www.football-lineups.com/team/Norwich_City/The_Championship_2010-2011/Stats/Penalties/ Hoolahan missed 2 out of 6 and then Grant Holt took over with 3 out of 3
Yeah, Wes got a little cocky I think and screwed it up, so fat boy took over the role. So far so good and no keeper has even got a finger to any of them (yet)
End of the day it hit his arm and that denied Morrison a strike on goal. Harsh, but it's a penalty. Whether N'Zonzi was fouled is a different matter, and I haven't seen it that many times so can't comment, but end of the day if the ball hits your arm like it did, it doesn't matter if you knew about it or not, it's still a penalty. To me, it's like saying "Well, I didn't know I was offside..."
No offence - that's rubbish. Ever heard of ball to hand? How can it be hand to ball (the prerequisite for a pen) if the player's not looking at the ball? Never in a million years was that a pen and most Norwich supporters agree with every single pundit I've seen or heard on the subject. You're definitely in a minority on this one, Scott! That said, Holt did take it well, I've no argument with you there.
Really though? I understand ball to hand, but you cannot put your hands up like that in the box! If you hear the whistle, brilliant! If there's been no whistle, you cannot put your hands up. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I agree that the parameters for making that decision are correct, but football's gone a bit mad over the last few years eh? If his hands hadn't been up, Morrison would have had a shot at goal from 6 yard unopposed (if N'Zonzi hadn't been too busy complaining it might have been different!), so surely, even though he didn't know about it, his team would have gained an unfair advantage by the ball hitting his hand?
Can see where you're coming from. But I don't agree. The word 'deliberate' is in the rules so I can't see how it can be deliberate if he ain't looking. Found this old article on the BEEB which is interesting. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/rules_and_equipment/4524354.stm
Never a pen in a million years, as hit the road says it's gotta be deliberate hand to ball, not ball to hand. But there you go ,win some' lose some
Have to say if the boot was on the other foot, and that penalty was awarded against us I would have been spitting feathers. Has to be hand to ball, in a deliberate manner.
I reckon Bayo Akinfenwa is the best penalty taker ever. Like the one he took against Barsley in the league 1 play-off final. Absolute Talent.
NEWSFLASH! David Cotterill scores penalty for Swansea Reserves in a 1-1 draw at Norwich. Scotty has competition again!
