Agree with everyone else who said the subs came too late, Dan Neil looked dead on his feet and possibly even mildly injured but he was kept on. Not sure if Simms had to go off or if it was tactical but that didn't help either. ****ing roasting sitting in the sun all game and I had the misfortune to be sitting next to a giant of a man so personal space was a distant memory. Crap end to the game obviously but at least we held our own again. Should have won like.
Referees are just ordinary people who decide to become referees. They need to believe, at the start of every match, that they are refereeing not two teams but a game. But if that ordinary man has reason to hate a team or a set of supporters, it must be a big temptation at times to “not see” an incident. To remain impartial in such circumstances must take a very high degree of integrity.
Yeah. Came home and reflected on it. It's more significant. Seen the team stats and yeah, AN needs to take this. I disagree massively with his post match conference too. That said. It's a game. It's gone. Next one.
I thought Pritchard was very industrious today and he didn't play like a number 10 when we were without the ball. He dropped back onto the left of a 3 in midfield, with Neil on the right and Evans sitting deeper. I actually thought Pritchard and Neil complimented the wingbacks and the link up play between those pairs (particularly Pritchard and Clarke) was a key source of our creativity.
There were lots of times we were left short on our right with gooch having 2 men to look after where as we seem more balanced on the left.
