He'll be a positive influence on the new young players.

 

He mis-reported that, Lyanco is the only new absentee, Theo and Tino both remain out.

 

Lots of new players to motivate though, I think he deserves a raise.

Theo has an elbow injury. He was waving his hands around too enthusiastically when talking to a younger player.

 

Just had a meeting with 3 Leeds fans, they are all supremely confident. One of them wanted to have a bet with me on the game so I suggested looking at the odds and they all fell about laughing and in disbelief that we were favourites with the bookies, they now have a reasonable mortgage payment placed on the game between them with a bookie

So he's a gesticulator, who'd a thought it? He'll have to be careful he'll have someone's eye out.

 

There may be a few players in the squad that are further away from the first team this season and the main reason is that we have raised the bar with the new signings. I appreciate it’s easy to mock McCarthy and Walcott for their form in recent times but McCarthy was there when we needed him as Forster suffered a confidence crisis. He performed so well he eventually debuted in the England team (with a clean sheet). As for Walcott, he is a very good example of the Southampton way, making his debut at just 16. He was for me one of the most exciting youngsters to break into the first team and I was gutted that He left for Arsenal. I think his return to the club was a sentimental one* (on all sides!) similar to SRL to Liverpool and shows his love for the club. Difficult for me to deny him that pleasure.

* - in hindsight. I was all for the signing at the time.

 

I know this is a left-field opinion, but what about letting Ralph and his coaching team decide on the best XI (plus V subs), based on their performance on the training ground, then giving the team some support, come what may?

Alternatively, we can demand that Perraud gets a run out.

 

I'm going to be at St Marys, so I'm hoping that one of the screens in the concourse will be showing a different match. Or the horse racing. Or the Paint Drying channel

 

That sounds like an outrageous notion. It should be a Twitter and Facebook poll with the manager bound to the results. And then blamed for the performance regardless

 

If that means photo ID then me for example.

 

As if a professional football manager* knows more about the game than the fans!

That sounds like a sensible plan, but it’s not really working is it? We’ve lost 11 of our last 13 games, so maybe Ralph should come on here and take some of our advice?!
