Good Morning. It's Thursday 11th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Kai Wagner back on Victor Orta's radar. Leeds face competition from Benfica and Dinamo Zagreb for Philadelphia Union's Kai Wagner. Jesse Marsch is keen to sign a specialist left wing back to create competition for Junior Firpo, and according to Forbes journalist Manuel Veth, the 25yo German is high on Marsch's shopping list. It is believed that Leeds hold a big advantage over their competition should they wish to meet Philadelphia's £4m valuation. Not only is Marsch good friends with Union's head Coach Jim Curtin, but Wagner and Brenden Aaronson used to play together, and let's not forget about the influence the 49ers may have! Wagner has been one of the first names on the team sheet all season, playing all 24 games, providing 5 assists on the way. He has been named to play for the MLS All-Stars in their upcoming All-Star showdown against the Liga MX All-Stars later on today. please log in to view this image James may have a fight on his hands to get in the strongest XI Speaking ahead of Saturday's clash at St Mary's, Elland Road journalist Beren Cross believes that Dan James could have a fight on his hands to 'get in the strongest XI' once Sinisterra returns to the fold. The Columbian winger pulled his hamstring during the early stages of the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace last month, but has been working hard on the training pitch to regain full fitness. If Sinisterra can replicate the same kind of form he showed last season for Feyenoord, and Jack Harrison continues to impress, Jesse Marsch may have a dilemma on his hands. "The jury is still out on Sinisterra, we really haven't seen enough of him yet. If he's anything like as good as Raphinha then he starts in that trio with Aaronson and Harrison. James may have a fight on his hands to get in the strongest XI. It's him vs Harrison, for me, if Sinisterra proves his worth at around £25m." please log in to view this image Leeds strongly linked to Watford duo Italian media outfit 'TuttoMercatoWeb' are claiming Leeds are on the verge of signing two Watford players. Ismaila Sarr, a £30m record signing from Rennes back in 2019 plays predominantly as a winger. In 91 appearances, the 24yo Senegalese International has netted 24 times. Even more bizarrely though, Joao Pedro has been strongly linked with a loan move to Elland Road. The talented 20yo Brazilian has been in impressive form since his arrival at Vicarage Road two years ago (from Fluminense), although he has yet to find his striking boots. He made 29 appearances for the Hornet's last season, netting just four times, though his overall performances gained a lot of praise. He is contracted to Watford for another five years (2027). Why Leeds would be linked with either player remains a mystery! please log in to view this image
Can we bring out a Stars and Stripes kit now as an away strip and bin that adult yellow thing that sank to the bottom of the sea
Morning all From what I read on Twitter the yanks are raving about Wagner. From what I understand from the start of the window he's only £2.5 million and he's been trying to get back in to European football for a couple of seasons now. The Pedro link is weird. Why we go for Pedro on loan is beyond me. Sarr we've been interested in for a couple of weeks now. Supposedly Scum are interested in Sarr as well as us but we got there before him. Btw has anybody seen Sarr's goal on Monday against West Brom. Not half impressive.
Morning, Phil Hay this morning ha said links with Sarr, Mata and Pedro are way off the mark. I expect if we do get someone it will come out of nowhere and progress quickly.
Good Morning to all from ahot Bardsey We still need a left backbecause at the moment we arelikea car with a flat tyre I was not surprised to read that we had not even offered PSG any money for super K I take all the rumours as just anotherdeceit for the fans why dont they come out with the truth for once Rodrigo has been a waste of money sell him whilst hes hot
Potential good news on the Klich front. Marsch likes rotating, 5 subs and has good man management so he could work a lot better for a bigger squad and keeping the players happy. I think it’s hard to see us signing another player, possible a LB unless we see outgoings because this is how I see the squad atm, 2-3 players for all positions and attack actually looks quite stacked. Any incomings up front will leave some unhappy players which can be difficult to manage as well. GK - Meslier/Robles RB - Kristensen/Drameh/Ayling (inj) CB - Koch CB - Llorente/Cooper(inj) LB - Struijk/Hjlede/Dallas(inj)/Firpo(inj) CM - Adams/Gray/Forshaw CM - Roca/Greenwood/Gyabi LM - Harrison/Sinisterra RM - James/Summerville CAM - Aaronson/Rodrigo/Klich ST - Bamford/Gelhardt
Strong bench against Saints Sinisterra, Cooper, James and Forshaw all available and will be on the bench. Firpo 2 weeks away and Ayling at least 2 weeks but ahead of schedule according to his surgeon who he went to see earlier this week
Perhaps, but surely the upside is the cheerleaders? Can you remember that famous half time cheerleader display that even made it on to Soccer AM?
I predict a riot - if this happened at Elland Road NFL's first transgender cheerleader: Dancer, 29, signs with Carolina Panthers and says 'more people need to see this' as she practices ahead of new season
