You've been banned from two threads because you deliberately disrupted them. If you didn't do so you wouldn't have been . . . . it's quite simple It would help if you took notice of what Marcus said
You could go back through apps and find stats for any player that makes them look that good man, it doesn’t mean what people are seeing is wrong. He’s not good enough to play regular Championship football in midfield and being the best of a bad bunch doesn’t mean he played well.
No, I didn't. That's just Smugs opinion backed up by you. I've spoken to Marcus and you can mind your own business on that.
Calm down let's not get like those on the dark side. OH and BTW 09 is just not good enough for the starting 11, but useful at breaking up games and legs.
Hopefully some incomings before Saturday, I seen nothing last night to tell me we have enough in central midfield. I think we need to move Matete, Winchester & Sohna on, they are nowhere near good enough for the Championship. I like Winchester and he’s done a good job but this league is a step too far. I held of on judging Matete because he only signed in January but he’s not good enough
Teams hate him and are well aware of him. I've checked the forums of the teams we have been playing and they all mention him and hope their players 'leave one in on him' I think he'll be a liability in this league if he gets anymore than 10 minutes playing time.
There’s a player in there but he definitely needs to go out and get regular games, top half of league one would be ideal
It kind of does when he's the one player being targeted as the worst player on the pitch, like he was throughout the game. I'd say that makes them wrong.
I dont want to single Matete out because they were all terrible apart from Diamond, but he has got worse with every game he has played. He had a steady debut then every appearance afterwards he got progressively worse. Maybe a loan would do him good.
Exactly, the sum of the parts of that team last night wasn’t much cop but bringing individuals on with the first team for periods will be fine.
It doesn't make them wrong at all, its all about opinions. Stats only tell part of the story, i watched the game and he was dreadful - as was every player tbf. O'nien is a top lad and has done well for us but i do think he will struggle this season as he is slow on the ball and positionally he gets caught out all the time - honestly i wish never more than to be proven wrong. Winchester needs sold hes nowhere near the standard we need. Sohna n matete need loan deals. If we bring in another rb (which we need to do) then hume should get a loan move as well
Well deodorant over the road has said wycombe are in for o9 among other lg1 clubs , if he ends up back in that division then it just backs what most are saying. It's nothing personal towards him if he was going to play right back I'd happily keep him but not cm , not good enough
So we can ignore stats in favour of "what we reckon" as long as it means we don't have to accept the possibility of being wrong, righto. I doubt our recruitment team thinks along those lines. I'm not advocating for him starting btw and never have in this league. I don't believe he should be the target for harsh criticism that he is though and whether you like it or not the stats back me up on that.
You do realise how teams use data? They use it to narrow dwn targets then actually watch the game and see how a player has actually done? Plus you are comparing his stats to his teammates were all crap as well So based on how much you keep defending him you think he played well last night? All im saying is he was really poor last night, thats not harsh criticism at all thats me stating my opinion - ive also said other players were crap as well.
as I said last night - him going back to Wycombe makes so much sense for all parties whilst the fee won’t be massive, we have to remember that our transfer policy of buying players young or when they’re “low” ie Pritchard and Evans, also requires SELLING players when their stock is relatively high. as fans we aren’t used to selling players. We are used to desperately trying to get rid of players. Because we’ve been poor as a club at knowing when to sell in my opinion we can either sell him and get a fee now, or wait until next summer and have to pay somebody to take him as his stock will be too low
O’nien was at his best under Neil when he was asked to stick to his man not let them breath and spoil the play, did this very well against Bannan in the play offs (switched off for their goal mind) think he is too limited to start in the championship but wish him well if he moves on, feel it’s time for an upgrade in the middle
also stats at that high a level can be misleading. Two completed passes aren’t equal. two scenarios. Same players involved in same position on pitch. One might have taken 0.1 seconds to play and led to the person you’re passing to creating a goal. The other might have taken 0.5 seconds to play and led to the person you’re passing to being under pressure, giving it away and conceding. It’s my opinion that whilst O’Niens high level stats last night may look good, I reckon any deeper analysis of them (which the club will be doing), will show that he was too slow in possession, which caused problems for the people he was passing to. And that’s just one thing. His positioning and decision making just wasn’t right. I love the lad. I just don’t think he’s a holding midfielder.
