" Praise in public, criticise in private ", has oft been used by me on this, and other outlets. I first came across those words in a Management text book, written by an American. They are big on such tomes. I acted upon them throughout my working, and private, life. Words to live by, I think. So we are as one on that score. Martin isn't a " Manager in industry ", he's Manager of a football Club. He will ultimately be judged on his performances, and dealt with accordingly should he be deemed an overall failure. His employers will make that decision, not posters on any forum. Unfortunately, some football Managers are sacked even when they have been successful. Such is the lunacy that surrounds the game of football. In recent years Swansea City have ben guilty of that. Look where it's got them. Another string of defeats. Doom and gloom wherever you look. Once again the " sack him " hysteria has taken control, and to some extent poisoned, this forum. This is a well trodden path hereabouts. I read the same words, by the same posters, and it's very tedious. " Sack Laudrup ", " Sack Monk ", " Sack Bradley ", " Sack Cooper ". " Sack, sack, sack, and then sack again. Jeez. Yet NONE of the " sack him brigade " have ever been in football management. So what qualifies them to feel THEY have all, or any, the answers ? Of course, they don't have any. They may have kicked a ball around on Swansea sands with their pals, and then got bevied up at a local hostelry. Then sung each others praises, and made out they know all about football. Par for the course. It would be sad if it wasn't so hilarious. Being a Manager is not easy, in whatever field you choose. You are always a target of the frustrated. Many think they could do a far better job. Whilst Martin has yet to prove himself at Swansea, his detractor's would all struggle to achieve anything of note in a sport they think they are experts in. How about we " sack '' all the moaners on here, and start again ?
He has had a whole season and now a pre season to improve it and we still can’t defend, no excuse now. It is his side and his style and it is hopeless. Time for Sean Dyche.
Interesting comments… It could well be the case that some on here have achieved Board Level positions in their chosen fields - Never and Glam spring to mind (apologies to others if it applies also). Similarly, some on here may have been involved in Sport at the ‘Top Level’ - and even been involved in Managers and Coaches leaving their positions. We don’t always know do we?
