Councillor David Davis has slammed plans to use a North Ferriby hotel to house asylum seekers saying it is in 'an entirely wrong location'.

The Conservative MP for Haltemprice and Howden tweeted that he has been resisting Home Office proposals to use Humber View Hotel in his constituency. In a series of tweets he said: "I have been contacted by several constituents concerned about proposals to use Humber View Hotel in my constituency to house asylum seekers. So he’s gone from a councillor to an mp in two lines of the paragraph

He said exactly the same about using the students' residential apartments in Thwaite Hall, Cottingham, and that didn't make any difference either. They moved in without any consultation with the electorate.
