Broadhead has clearly done what he feels is best for his career. Good luck to him, he played a huge part in getting us out of league 1 so ill always wish him well. Just because a player doesnt come to us doesnt mean they lack ambition or has bottled it, theyll be doing what they feel is best for themselves to have the best career possible. Lets move on from the Broadhead chat and focus on who might next be through the door
He did a job for us and I wish him well, but we move on. tell you one thing I have confidence in our recruitment team to find someone else.
No disrespect mate, but of course he is. Who else should he look after exactly? I think us fans as underestimating what playing in a world cup means for a professional footballer. Th
Dangerous territory suggesting there may be psychological issues in my opinion. Unless anyone here is his doctor it is guesswork, and frankly lazy guesswork iny opinion. All about opinions mate, but think some of what has been posted about him today has been extreme, and frankly a bit odd. Maybe it is me that is in the wrong though, wouldnt be the first or last time.
Re Broadhead : Allow me to play devil's advocate here on the argument of bottling it and guaranteeing playing prior to the world cup. I haven't checked but people have said that Wigan have 5 strikers before Broadhead signed. If I was 1 of those strikers, I wouldn't be best pleased that an u23 striker had been given guarantees that he'd be playing especially as he has an injury record and hasn't done any preseason training prior to signing, even if that means he'll start on the bench
That's fair. I'm only saying it because I have something called GAD myself (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) which causes every thought and niggle to be magnified. It basically stopped me playing the game as I couldn't deal with all the little niggles I'd get. Some players that get a lot of niggles will likely suffer from the same. And some players getting the same niggles might not even notice them, or at best be able to easily forget about them
But if it his main concern I wouldn't want him, though I would have been happy for us to sign him permanently and I'm very surprised he didn't, either here or somewhere else. Well see , but I'm not sure he'll get another , say three plus year deal at our level dangled in front of him, given his unfortunate injury issues.
Great post mate. I respect fully your experience and I hope I have caused no offence. I manage a lad at the moment who is struggling and all I can do is give him my maxumum support, on and off the pitch. I am just a bit upset at how people have assumed the worst of him because he went, and if I am honest really disappointed at AN for even hinting he thinks the reason may have been being scared of Simms and Stewart. The assertion from Alex Neil really is laughable in my opinion, but I have said my bit. Like I say mate, no offence.
Alright we're clearly all thinking it but since no-one else has said it: Alfred N'Diaye One. Last. Dance.
Talking about one last dance - I'm scouting a game and Seb Larsson is starting in CM. One of my fave players from when we were in the PL - Benji is also playing
none taken at all. I should have worded the original post better and frankly you were right to call me out on it
