Bellerins career is a bit sad. Barcelona youth team scouted by Arsenal joined us as a 15 year old.
At 19-21 he was soo quick/explosive with great potential.

A series of injuries later and a vegan diet and if anything Bellerin never progressed.

Still wish him all the best.

 

Another one out the door - shame it’s a loan with obligation to buy (if Monza stay in Serie A), rather than an outright sale, but at least he’s not our problem for (at minimum) a season.

 

Never understood why we ever signed this guy, but it is what it is. Loaned out to Turkey for the season.

 

Assuming all these players leave (even if it’s 2 of them), surely, we are going to bring in one or two signings before the transfer window ends?

 

Really hope we bring in another CM - I think a last day move for Tielemans is likely but it seems like Arsenal are not willing to go to £30m (Leceister's valuation of him). He's a decent player but with the way Xhaka is playing.. I don't think he starts for us.

Maybe we don't have the available funds but we should be trying to compete for Bellingham/Rice/Savic/Tonali - a higher calibre of CM to push us on a level.

 

Looks like this one is a go-er.

Shame it hasn’t worked out for Pepe, but he just doesn’t fit into our plans and isn’t technically/tactically secure enough for Arteta to trust him. He’s been a huge disappointment overall.

However, I do think Nice would be a great move for him and it means we will (likely) look to get another wide forward in by the end of the window.

 

still think there’s a player there, but as you said, doesn’t fit out plans / system.

 

We want Neto. Will be tricky considering he very recently signed a new deal at Wolves, who don’t need to sell. But I would love him.

 

Sooo current rumours are they are looking to add:

Neto/Yeremy - A tricky technical wide player.
Paqueta/Tielemans - A CM who can cover a few positions.

Really seems like Arteta wants to add versatility.

 

Does Neto improve our starting 11?

Not sure he gets in ahead of Martinelli/ESR - but still would be decent addition.

 

I don’t think so, but he’ll be a replacement for Pepe (who looks set to join Nice).

He’s a very useful squad player and will still get plenty of minutes with Europa league, cup action, Saka/Martinelli needing rests, the injuries we inevitably get every season etc…

It improves the overall quality of our squad.

 

Yeah agree with all that. I still want us to go for Sane - but Neto would be a decent signing.

A lot of movement on outgoings. Surely, we are bringing 1-2 more players in? Surely?

 

Hopefully we are. It certainly looks that way. The club said a few weeks ago that they would concentrate on moving players on before signing anybody else.

 

I just hope we’re giving ourselves enough time to sign new players because there’s not long left and we are going to have a fairly congested fixture list soon. Trimming the squad is great, but we still need to be bringing quality in. If we can’t get Neto, I hope we can go for someone else.

 

I'd expect some deals to get done in the last couple of days. It's when everybody shows their hand.

Neto and Tielemans for me would be a perfect window
