And there you have it. Two pages just confirm everyone as an …. opinion. I’m close to agreeing with this comment in that I don’t think there is too much to choose between the 6 CBs that we have. I think they are all capable of being EPL quality but with so many individual errors it’s quite frightening ATM. With a new coaching set up and a reliable keeper who actually talks to his defence I am hoping we will introduce some consistency. Not a good start against spurs admittedly but I’ll reserve judgement for a few games yet.
We only seem to play at two levels under Ralph - Champion's League form or Derby 2007 form. Any statistical analyses that fall outside of these two levels are simply as a result of the team transitioning from one to the other during the period being analysed. So, in theory, we would appear to have a Schrodinger's Defence - one entirely capable of keeping the very best at bay whilst simultaneously being incapable of keeping out a soft breeze. That would point to our defensive woes being more about set up, coaching and preparation than personnel.
He has been ****ing **** for a long time to be honest. Living off one or two big performances. Agreed that he has potential though. But the big question is can we afford to rely on a young inexperienced player like him to keep us up. If he was in a 2 with VVD or Fonte I would have zero concerns. But he is in a 3 with bednarek and Valery for some reason
There's this 26 year old centre half who has 42 international caps for one of Europe's form nations and over 100 PL apps going on a free guys if anyone's keen?
Phil Jones anyone? Nothing linked, but surely he won’t get game time at Utd, you would have thought someone would enquire about him.
Not over 90 minute matches he hasn't. He's just had **** moments in games where he loses concentration. It's his main weakness that needs sorting but generally he's very solid in games.
Well that’s the beauty of free speech and opinion and yes he’s **** imo. Certainly not premiership quality, certainly him and Bednarek have been at the heart of how we fail at the back,so therefore he’s ****
I agree, but it doesn't mean he's not PL quality. Outside the top 6 or 7 teams, most CB's make mistakes. I admit Salisu needs to cut out the silly mistakes he makes too often but he's got all the foundations of being a good CB - he could do with an experienced CB alongside him to guide him.
How about when he gave a needless penalty to City in the FA cup and completely changed the flow of the game. It wasn't silly it was just plain bloody stupid
