good luck and best wishes to broadhead, as long as he pulls a sicky when they play us (presuming he is fit, anyway)...wonder if it gets to them that the only 'montage' of him scoring is for us and not his own club? obviously, something was not right for one or the other so we move on, would have liked him back as he knows the club, the players and manager and for all the time he was MIA he still managed some damn fine goals. also looking like bob was spot on with his info while all others were fairly certain it was still on. EDIT: hmm, now read AN's bit about how close it was, seems everyone was right with the info, shows just how things can change, sometimes at the last minute
I'd hope so. But a mate of mine who is a Celtic nut says he's past his best. I asked him on Sunday when his name had been flying around.
Can understand him wanting game time, but isn't that part of being a footballer? Pushing yourself to be better than others and making it impossible to drop you?
So was Dwight Yorke when Keane signed him or Niall Quinn when Reid signed him. I trust AN with players we bring in.
Shows how close we were and the info from some was not made up at all. Just the way it works, things literally do change for a wide host of reasons.
Aye. Hope so . They have got more right than Aye. Hope so . They have got a lot more right than wrong
Might like the easy life. Loan, wages made up, no travel, still on Everton's books, play every week(?!). We definitely don't want to be signing players who are reluctant to come.
My thoughts, especially with AN's last comment suggesting that he didn't back himself over Stewart and/or Simms: "On the broader point, we need players who are going to come here and back themselves and believe that they are going to contribute to what we are doing. It takes a certain type of mentality to do that at this club because of the scrutiny and the pressure that come with it"
James McCarthy would be an awful signing. Watched him a lot last few seasons and his legs have totally gone. So injury prone and can not get about the pitch. My mates a season ticket holder at celtic and says hes done and was shocking at times for them - games by pass him by. We need energy in the middle and hes not that at all. Of course id trust the recruitment team but i think he would struggle in the championship
If he rejected us, because of the way Stewart and Simms played in ONE game, because he felt it would be easier to get into the Wigan team then it doesn't say much for their 5 strikers and I wonder how they feel if he has been told he would be given game time!
on the subject of dajaku, i still feel he is trying too hard, he has some neat touches and is fast, also has an eye for goal...i just feel that he needs to calm himself down, stop trying to impress and just play his game, people also need to take into account that he is still a young lad away from home and could take a wee while to settle.
I remember a Rangers fan telling me Reyna would be an awful signing because he was just another "plodder" Fans aren't always the best judge. If we sign him, I'll leave it up to Alex Neil to be the judge
