Jota and Alisson injury blows
There’s been a lot of good news for Liverpool recently, we were bound to get something bad soon, weren’t we?

Diogo Jota and Alisson have both picked up injury issues and, at this stage, it’s unclear how serious, with both players to undergo more medical tests in the coming days.

However, certainly, in Jota’s case, this really is an untimely setback. The forward sustained a hamstring injury while on international duty with Portugal at the end of last season, and this looks to be a recurrence of the same issue.

The Portuguese international was outstanding for large parts of last season but struggled for consistency towards the end of the campaign, and this certainly won’t help him regain it.

Jota didn’t play a part in Tuesday’s friendly against Man United and had only just returned to full training later this week.

Keita, Jones and Konate added to those already sidelined; Kostas Tsimikas, Diogo Jota, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calvin Ramsay, Alisson, Caoimhin Kelleher and Kaide Gordon.
Klopp has even ruled Keita out of next week’s opening Premier League game against Fulham.

On Jones, the boss says “we have to see” and that his injury was not an impact injury, making it unknown what the issue is.

“He felt it today and he wanted to play desperately, but then the medical department said no and that we needed to make further tests. We will do that tomorrow and then we will know more.”

 

He didn't rule keita out of Fulham. He said he was ill.

The good thing is the only one we really need back next weekend is alisson. The rest can take the time and get right.

Klopp has signaled on the ox. We can write him off til after world cup and even then he's then done for.

Jones could be anything. Tightness was what klopp reported and that means it's prob 3 weeks. Again, not ideal.

Keita is the last reserve we then have and he is "ill"

Milner fabinho henderson thiago Elliott. 3 of those are injury prone.

That's a pretty stark picture right now.
