"Our five-point survival guide"? They'll need more than 5, that's even worse than Sunderland managed.
Surely this excellent well written thread should be on the Forest board, where I'm sure it would be welcomed with open arms by Ginger Jack and the Fans alike.
I did find it remarkable that they've signed something like 12 players in the summer to make their squad more suited to the Prem, yet they still had Jack ****ing Colback as the centre piece of their team yesterday. They looked dire yesterday, a nice strole in the park for us.
And in other news, Garth Crooks is bitching for England about Jesse Lingard. Who really gives a **** that he only wanted a 1 year contract?
Based on nothing but the performance on Saturday they are in for a very long season. Need to gel that team together quickly if they are going to get more than Derby's 11 point haul and they've already missed 3 off us so they could go down as one of the worst ever sides in the EPL era. Can see them eeking out a few draws here and there but they need to score to win games and I'm not sure they've got the fire power to score many which would be the real worry. Lindgaard looked disinterested and unbothered by the whole thing and being their best player he is going to need to really step up if they have any chance of survival.
It's very early to say, but they did look like a feckin mess on Sat. Brought in loads of players to change the team, but they looked so collectively disjointed and substandard. Colback clearly ain't Prem standard, and Lingard is an arrogant mercenary who is hardly gonna be putting his neck on the line for the team. We were good, don't get me wrong, but they were the perfect team to ease us into the season.
Their strikers worry me: Surridge looks average in the Championship and has never scored more than 8 goals in a season between Scottish Leagues or the Champ-L2. Brennan Johnson scored 16 last year but didn't impress on Saturday - needs to be buzzing around a bit more playing off Surridge (proper big man/little man partnership) but they looked like they hadn't played together. We destroyed their midfield and that's what you get playing 3-5-2 with Lingard in there - no energy and no chance of winning the ball back. They had no width and nothing went through their midfield (wide or centrally). Think they'll need to rely on set pieces if they stick with that formation but they'd be better off dropping a CB and adding in a CM then letting Johnson and Lingard play off Surridge. Think they'll end up on 18-20 points.
I think they might have issues with set pieces, at corners they had every single player out the box then trying to run in, by the time the first of their players toes hit our 18 yard box the ball was in Popes hands
Hahaha! Forgot about this! Never seen anything like that before. Shows they practice set pieces though and hopefully for them they'll figure that was one of the worst set pieces in history!
I said something similar but got shot down, some said it's a good deal at £200,000 a week for a season, cheaper than buying a player but not if he doesn't give a ****.
The loan market is full of dummy chuckers and results of bad decisions chasing the money The pampered tarts don’t want to move house but if they can commute to their loan club and kiss the new badge then that’s all right Don’t even go down that route now, all they want is for other clubs to coach and bring on their talent or “ give them game time” I’m glad Werner is a non starter he wouldn’t have the commitment we need Buy a player we want with the right drive and commitment we need and if they don’t have it move on Rant over
Really doesn't matter about the contract length, they know their getting a mercenary however long it is. The real question is if he'll be any good, and all signs point to no, seeing as he did jack **** for the whole of last season, and the goals for West Ham are becoming a distant memory now.
He probably had notions of making the English squad but if a player entertained the idea to play in America, tells you all you need to know.
Agree with all apart from the Werner comment. He has always put in the effort for Chelsea and I reckon if we got him that would continue so he could prove himself to us, Chelsea and as a PL player. Whether he's got it in home to get back to his RB scoring form in the PL is another question!
Urgh the MLS, the place where aged has-beens go to make a fortune based on the reputation from 10+ years ago. Almost as bad as the Chinese league for overpaying knackered old turds.
