Yes, one game into a new season is not the time for change and I think he should be given up until the World Cup to get things right.
I respect that response, I'm in the 'out' camp based on last season, but l think he should be given 2 months now that management backed him.
2 months with a back 5 and we will be all but down. If he switches back to what works things might turn around but he doesn't trust his centre backs so i dont see how it changes. New CB suddenly becomes the top priority which should come as no surprise as it hasn't been resolved in about 3 years.
I don’t think we should get rid now, because the board have backed him. I don’t think we’ve invested for this season though (atm), which is a concern. Ultimately I don’t expect things to change and I think the board probably made the wrong decision. I wouldn’t wait until the World Cup, we could be rooted to the foot of the table.
I voted yes but also teetering. It’s just too odd right now, and I still don’t understand why we seem to have dropped the press.
It depends on the degree of failure. If we are in the relegation zone by the World Cup that will probably be it for Ralph. If we have an enormously catastrophic start and are rooted to 20th by the end of October I think he will go earlier. Yesterday was terrible, but the Leeds and Leicester games will tell us a lot more about where we really are. I am not a fan of the Winter World Cup but it could well end up saving us by allowing extra time to change course should we have a really poor start.
I have no idea what the target is this season personally if we’re 17th or lower then he should go. At this point, with Ralph’s history, it should be results based. It’s no good going down and saying “yes but we played really well at Liverpool and City”. I don’t think we should wait until the World Cup, I would want new manager and staff settling in before then. The winter break will then be the ideal time for a new manager to really implement ideas.
I would hope that our new ownership will know when is the best time to sack Ralph, if needed. Let's see what moves are made before the close of the transfer window. It's pretty damn obvious we need players in.
I'm not out, but not in either. Just meh. If he was to go tomorrow I would be a little sad, but it wouldn't ruin my day. If he was here in 2 weeks, again I wouldn't be bothered, I'm at the not fussed stage and do find the extremities (both sides) hilarious.
Watch out for the splinters I’m mostly the same while also being in the ‘let’s wait at least 10 games’ camp. I was far more in the ‘out’ camp with Pellegrino, Hughes and even Puel than I am now with Ralph
My point probably is that football is important, but in the scheme of life it isn't and not worth raising your blood pressure over. Some come on here and just moan and moan whatever happens. Not only moan, but drag down the mood. Energy vampires. Look outside guys, 27 degrees, sunny, the world is good. Soak in that rather than the crap some spread on here and you'll have a better day, I know this is for debate, but some don't debate, just moan and are 24-7 negative.
I think when the football is rubbish and people moan on here they give the impression that they walk around all day being grumpy old bastards. Personally it doesn’t get me down. Life is great, fantastic weather, school holidays etc.
27c ……bbbrrrrrrrrr, it was 36c at 18:00 here in Zante this evening But your correct No 7, it’s not worth worrying out regarding Ralph, more things to worry about in life…….it is what is is. Still Ralph in ATM.
I'm finding if increasingly harder to be Ralph in! I think what he has done for this club cannot be understated by keeping us up on a shoe string budget. But his line ups, and decisions just baffle me. He constantly seems to make the wrong decision where it would there Is a much more simpler decision to make with subs and tactics during a game. If by the end of September these aren't remedied he just has to go.
I have this thought at the back of my mind that my favourite season was 2011/12 in the Championship. Proper clubs. Proper fans. Great games...and a league not ruined by money. It's possibly sacrilege to say it, but if we do go down...I won't lose any sleep over it. I'm getting sick of the expense of the premier league
