I support Charlton and remember us being top of the league for the first couple of games when we got promoted to the PL.
For the promoted teams it’s like Christmas Day for the players. If I was an established PL team, I would rather play another established PL for the first game every year.

Don’t forget as awful as we were. Diaz hit the bar. Hendo his the bar and both of their goals arguebly could have not happened (foul on Hendo, dodgy pen).

We weren’t great but at times we played ok and was some decent stuff.

Thiught TAA Salah and Elliot linked up well in second half. Imagine that’ll be the starting right hand side v palace with thisgo being out.

Sadly said it before Bobby is a luxury we can no longer afford.Passing is woeful and rarely creates anything and that's coming from someone who a few seasons ago would have had his name on team sheet first.
Thiago who I think is ace should be thinking of joining Keita and Ox and apply to the made of glass club.Seems like Matip has now revoked his membership of said club.:emoticon-0165-muscl

I’d give Alisson a 1 maximum. There is no way a goalkeeper of his stature should be conceding a goal from such a tight angle at his near post. Piss poor.

Can’t tell if this is serious or not. Ali did nothing wrong, other than a couple dodgy kicks that went out.

The first goal was scored at the back post, was a header from about 4 yards out. Not sure what expect him to do

Right in the postage stamp too. Robbo let the cross in, Trent was blouse, but can't see where Ally went wrong.

Regardless of which post you want to call it, it wasn’t an unstoppable bullet header that Alisson had no chance with, he got a hand to it. He could of jumped up with both hands to block and it was never going in. I’ve watched enough replays of the header to see Alisson falling backwards and still get a hand to it.

Re. the pen, I'm not convinced there was even contact from the way that Mitrovic's leg moves and then he flicks his own leg out and dives. There's people saying all through the match thread saying the rules are being interpreted differently this season and there has to be more contact for a foul, should be the same for pens surely?

Also for Fulham's first, Hendo is clearly fouled and I'd also argue that Mitrovic is holding Trent down, when the ball comes over, his first movent is to put both hands down on Trent's shoulder.

He didn't score a hattrick, that over hyped non-hattrick scoring bastard. How dare he debut and not score a hattrick for us?

Yes, but I bet he hit the bar after the game and got himself a stiff drink.

Also worth noting that not all forms of contact are fouls either

The header from Mitrovic too close to save (only a few yards out) even though he nearly got a hand to it. Most wouldn’t save it.

Sure. But outstretched leg motion, knee to knee contact followed by a fall will be given almost every time. The fact that Mitrovic bought the foul doesn’t make it less valid.

There was more contact on the Henderson challenge before their first goal than the challenge by van dijk for the penalty

Klopp nailed it when he said the attitude was not good enough from the players.

Lot of underperformances from key players yesterday but we also saw the same old issues:

    - Henderson at RCM is a major problem. Offering zero to our attack whilst getting in Trent’s and Mo’s way. Was better as the 6 and that’s where he needs to stay

    - Bobby. The lad is finished. Dropping far too deep without offering the link up

    - Robbo. His decision making is so bad these days

Milner and Hendo did well as a double pivot and we looked better for it - because they didn’t have Hendo at RCM and bobby as cf.

Darwin - we’ve got a player on our hands. He doesn’t have finesse but he causes so many issues and gets in all the right areas. Very exciting. Elliott was also very good.
