My thoughts on the Forest game - Slow start but we got there

Nothing you are saying other than Wilson was poor happened.

Almiron and ASM constantly beat their players and constantly drilled balls in for Wilson who was a good yard or more off the pace today.

We dominated every stat going, scored twice and got the win.

As @Andra Tutto Bene says he'd rather the striker was **** and scored than mint and missed.

Happy days boys, we have a win on the board 14 games earlier than last season and no one was blowing out their arse after 10 minutes. Huge huge improvement compared to west Ham last year at this time.

 

This time last season we would have lost and Bruce would have been planning his September long weekend break.

What if I was to let you into a secret that by managing to somehow make it into the ground last week, means you weren't the most pissed out of everyone?

 

Our weak spot was down the right. Tripps was great on the overlap but we need some real quality there.

a couple of years ago we’d have scraped a 0-0 draw with the scabs under Ashley and been relatively satisfied.

we beat them 2-0 today and dominated play whilst not really having that cutting edge.

that’s how far we have come.

Thought on the whole we played pretty well. It was just that Wilson wasn't that mobile, so there weren't clear chances created from movement. Miggy looked like he ran the most near the box, and got onto the end of some great passes from Bruno, but his final balls weren't good enough and were all dealt with. Forest came for a point and defended in numbers. I thought that Colback, for him, had a good game.

Joelinton and Bruno both didn't have their shooting boots on. Thankfully Schär did.

We dominated the game for the whole match, which must carry some positivity, despite our lack a fox in the box. A good start with room for an upgrade. Our leaders will take note.

 

It was an expensive night for me last week.

£40-50 on beer.
£6.30 for the bus fair.
£13 for the return taxi I didn’t make
£20 for the ticket to the match I didn’t get to

but I got as far as the castle wall near Stowell street and fell in a little ditch. I was that pissed I rang my mate and said give my ticket away as I’m ratted and can barely stand up. This was at about 15 mins before the start.

so I didn’t even make the match but somehow managed to get on a bus home. Fell asleep on that too and driver woke me up when we got back to consett.

 

What is this? The Shandy Girls Gang?






Would add I don’t do excessive drinking anymore and possibly could join the Gang if there was a vacancy except if I joined there would have to be a dress code.

 

We half expected to see you today, I went around looking for people with 15 stripes on the front of their shirts
