    Seasons over.

No point sacking him til we have the right man to replace.

Let him be the caretaker thread maker.

I most definitely will, I’m just saying I hope the hesitation he shows is short lived.

Fully expect him to score a loss of goals

Very underwhelming after the shield performance v citeh, Not what I expected at all. **** news re Thiago. That'll cost us. Mediocre generally, but Nunez has huge potential and liked what I saw from Elliott and Carvalho. Some of the others need to get a ****ing grip

We turned up and looked shocked that they wouid dare press us.

Matip I think was caught on ball in less than a minute?

Robertson made two comical errors that coughed up chances.

    Trent was extremely casual

We insisted on playing down the middle when all the space was left wide.

The ref let 3 or 4 bad fouls just go completely until their right full absolutely smashed though Diaz. One was a two player assault on thaigo who was lucky not to be badly caught.

Once we got their right full under pressure we proceeded to never play that ball that way.again

None of it made any sense tactically.

Firmino was pointless he was just in the middle coming into a Crowd.

You could understand Fulham blowing out after 30mins of thst level of effort and that they did.

The problem was trent was absolutely.pish at the back stick there. He had to know who was behind him.amd to block off or get up in the air and at least try to make it hard but he just tamely.made a platform for mitrovic. That was piss poor.

Elliott seems to have lost that urgency from his game since coming back from injury, he never tries to beat a man anymore either. Still a quality young player but his games definitely changed.

Yup. I have to agree. Not getting turned quickly and all that.

    Btw this pitch was 100x65m.

It is actually smaller than ours so it stands to reason there's very little space.

Tactically we got it very very wrong playing down the middle.

Ultimately just out fought and outplayed.

My biggest concern is still our midfield for this season. I don't think the main 3 are either good enough or fit enough. Let alone them missing

I thought a point each was fair enough,we should have defended the first goal better (Trent and Ali).
Their pen. was always going to be given.
Fulham kept up the energy levels really well and we were second best at times.

Classic first game of the season in some ways.

Yep, even Fab was poor today. Hendo's touch was like an elephant kicking a balloon, but he starts every season like that. I'd like to see Joe alongside Fab in a 4-2-3-1, which I think will better utilise the likes of Elliot and Carvalhio (sp) if we're going to have Thiago out for a bit. But even with our 'best' 3, I just don't think there's enough energy and speed in those three to play 4-3-3 every game. Again, did we mis a trick on Boussouma for the reported £25m Spuds got him for?

We will miss Mane at times, but there are plenty of shocking performances from him and the team with him in it.

We weren't at it today and Fulham controlled the game

    My ratings:

Allison: 5 Didn't think he had a chance with the header as it was right in the corner. Nearly got the pen. Maybe should have?

Trent: 4 Really, really poor distribution in the first half in his own half. Too many flicks and back heels when just not needed. Was basically just a shirt on a clothes line defending that header.

Robbo: 5 better defensively than Trent (though he could have done better stopping that cross). Leathered the ball across their six-yard line in the first half when needed composure.

Matip: 6 Great going forward in the first half and won most of his headers against a lively Mitrovich.

Virgil: 5 Really bamboozled for the pen. Concentration not 100%

Fab: 5. Swamped and panicked. Awful distribution.

Hendo. 6. Unlucky with late shote on the bar, but passing and first touch were turgid.

Thiago: 5 as with fab, was overwhelmed and didn't cope well. Some clear openings for a 20m pass opened up though - and he totally fluffed them. Doubt we'll see him again until October.

Diaz; 6: was the most lively forward in the first half, but Robbo and thiago were over and under-hitting final balls to him until he went off.

Bobby: 4. pretty dire. The whole middle of the field from box-to-box seemed chocker, and the touches and flicks were totally off. Think I saw him playing at 6 once, never mind at 8.

Mo: 6 Anonymous in first half, electric after the hour mark. Nunez coming on seemed to give him the freedom of the right hand of the pitch.

    Subs:

Elliott 6: I thought he controlled the ball well and linked up with Trent and Mo.

Nunez: 7 He really does mess defences up. He just finds space whenever. Don't know if he'll do this right from the start. Touch is iffy, but remember - so was Suarez's for the first few weeks he came. We'll see.

Carvalhio; 5 Thought he was going to score with his first touch. Decent on the ball but didn't find much room, worryingly.

Klopp: 6 Should have taken Bobby off sooner. Apart from that, he must have been as shocked as everyone else at just how limply we dealt with Fulham's excellent aggression and passion. We need a few early goals against Palace now, or we'll already be looking at 4-5 points behind the leaders before we go to OT. One game can be a hitch - two failures to get three points at this time of the season leaves you looking at uphill tasks.
