I have a feeling City are going to struggle this season and could end up out of the top 2. All depends on how they adapt to a new system.
If Foden, Silva and kdb stay fit they will be fine. Sterling knew the system, Grealish just doesn't. Same for Jesus compared to Haaland. Although I expect haaland to obliterate some lower teams.
Totally agree. City are evolving because of us, and everyone else (including us) are evolving to catch/chase City. Darwin in action (pun intended).
I really don't think city are improved at all by this summer and if silva goes they will have to buy big. People are obsessed with haaland but it's a team game. A squad game now and imo city are lessened in the squad and we will only see the effects as the season progresses. For the record I have said kind of the aame for us in that we've let 3 forwards of a senior nature go and bought 1 plans another kid. It will show.
I think sterling is the biggest loss for them. jesus was decent and a good option but I think Haaland will provide much more, even if takes a little while for both him and team to adjust. Alvarez also looks like can provide decent cover that Jesus did out wide. Zinchenko not sure will miss much unless they get injuries to Walker or Cancelo. He was an ok players but never really had a position and defensively wasn’t great. city still being linked to another LB so if get someone in covers that easily. Sterling however always seemed to have a hot streak and would chip in with important goals. May have bad spells and may miss some chances but he developed and got into the box for those back post tap ins. He had the speed and intelligence to get into positions. Grealish is a decent player but totally different and won’t score 15 prem goals a season in way sterling did. He doesn’t have that speed in the box to our manoeuvre someone and get a yard of space. Overall I wouldn’t say any worse, but I wouldn’t say have improved massively. However if Haaland hits the ground running he could take them to that next level in the CL
According to the FA Handbook "The Community Shield is the first official match of the English football season. Hence, it is considered as a competitive match and not a pre-season friendly."
I wouldn't get too hung up on the word competitive My point was that Nunez scored and got a medal in his first game (that wasn't a friendly) and it might be a club record
Better than grealish but could be better option than mahrez on the right. Foden now needs to play left side. Take out silva and then they are really a first 11 and then a.massive drop off in the squad Lfc issue is midfield simply isn't there First 3 are aging or injury prone and the kids are kids.
No. His first game was v Norwich on 9 August - we won 4-1. His second game was the Super Cup on 14 August.
