Absolutely. And i have no real expectations of him and am not questioning why isnt he any better. I am questioning that, if he is still young and not ready to improve our back line, why did we buy him?
The goal apart, we are still having trouble creating problems for the Spurs defence. They get two quality crosses in, two goals. Our crosses are being cleared with ease. Maybe we need to get Stuart on for Romeu to give us a more creative option in midfield.
Correct. In the fullness of time he will be a solid choice for us at CB. He's a man mountain but he needs time to bed in. Valery on the other hand has played CB before and performed much better than he ever did at RB. Preseason showed he has beefed himself up and continued to show great composure under pressure so his choice today was a good one. But I'm only talking about this game.
As others are saying, Lavia… Valery plays great at moments but then seems to be a weak link at others. Djenepo great assist, but positionally at the back a bit dodgy. Adam Armstrong has hardly touched the ball. Stuie and Redders on for the energy please. EDIT: Also, thank f*ck for Bazunu. Could be 4 or 5
Because he will improve our back line considerably over time. Much like Salisu. Or moreover, like Saliba for Arsenal, who at ABK's age they loaned out for two years.
Text makes it seem like a shooting gallery for Spurs and suggests that Spurs should have scored again with a cross despite our 3 CBs We need to sort tho out HT Subs? BK, Stu & Che?
Really really poor defending for the second goal. The first I’m putting down to a sublime cross, but the second was really bad
We've played quite well TBF. Not a shock that Spurs have created chances with their attack. Need Stuey on.
It will be exciting to see what changes are made in the second half. I lost my stream but a couple of quick changes could see a big improvement. Rather than a lone striker to pick up breakaway lobs, Che could hold up play more effectively if we defend higher up the pitch. Perraud for Djenepo, Stuey for Romeu and Che for Adarma would be my choice.
Yes - and we have absolutely no track record at ramping up the pressure late on, 2-1 down, away at Spurs.
Which is great, and like I say, if he is in addition to another CB that is due to come in then it makes perfect sense. But would you not worry if we accept that our current back line will be good enough for another season? I think we need a CB that is ready to come in and help improve us this season, not in the future.
I do see what you’re saying, but I think we’re after another, and ABK will come good. Won’t be these three over a season.
Pedantic. Have we not purchased players for every position? Not having a go. Just made me chuckle. Armstrong suddenly our best option as a front man? Valery in our best 3 cb’s? Fine if so. Just amusing to me
