It’s a shame the bbc are spoiling the occasion by talking absolute ****e. Apparently: - we’ve all been waiting for this moment since 1966 (no Gabby we’ve been waiting for the men to win the mens tournament and we still wait as this is the prestige) - this is the biggest moment in decades for English football. (No gabby, it isn’t. Comparative to the standards and history Italia 90 or even the recent Euros has more prestige by every metric) it’s a great achievement and a big well done to the lasses but it pisses me off when people try to merge both games. Both mens and womens football are completely different and can stand up in their own right.
The lasses would agree with this too. It's a BBC shove it down your throat political statement. It's a pile of ****e. I'm loving the fact they've done it, I love the look on their faces at achieving for many a lifetime ambition, and well done. Making associations with last summer, Euro 96, Italia 90, and 66 is ****ing nonsense. And that's from a Scotsman.
It’s a great achievement in its own right. We should not really be referencing it to any form of mens football.
We're not, the BBC are. To put this argument to bed. How many England flags you seen flying for this in comparison to what will fly in November?
The LGBTQ crowd sadly use women's football as a way to promote themselves, and the only way they seem to be able to do this is misguided comparisons to the men's game. Well done to the women's team, its an awesome achievement. Its also an achievement in the field of women's football only.
WELL DONE LADIES! A great achievement, one they will remember forever and inspire a generation of young ladies! It'll be interesting to see where they go from here, now they are champions they need to back it up and go again in the next tournament and develop the squad if any of the more senior players retire.
