Glad you made it in (more or less) one piece. I got puffed out climbing the steps up the tower at Lincoln Castle this weekend, no way I’d be up for a challenge like this. Well done!
Well done. I've got this to do in september. Did a walk from ingleton to wernside a couple of months ago. Went up the way you came down and back to ingleton. Was about twenty miles and i was cream crackered. I carried a very heavy rucksack which was stupid and yes it pissed it down on wernside. To make matters worse most of the pubs in ingleton were closed. Found one in the end on the outskirts, but to be honest all i wanted to do was go to our room and go to bed.
Congrats mate - the experience you've described here sounds exactly identical to mine. Hope you're recovering well - the pain is worth it for the achievement and for the good cause.
Well done. Sounds like a great day out. Had a day up kinder in weather like that with gale force winds to boot, albeit only half the distance. Was probably the most fun walk I’ve been on.
Huge well done to you, did Whernside last year with my lad just as a stand alone and that was hard enough so kudos to you and a great cause too, we did it on a beautiful dry spring day so to do it when it's wet must have been bloody hard.
I've thrown my boots and un-waterproofs in the bin today, I couldn't face looking at them, and they stunk
Thats far too close to the three peaks I am now mentally scarred of going anywhere in that general area !
I once did the Lyke Wake Walk. Wasn't supposed to. I was on the support team. Got lost in the dark and did 5 miles more than I needed. Didn't raise a single penny. Donated to make up for it.
