for me this is the sad part of todays game. if you stay on your feet after a challenge the ref is less inclined to give them the foul. we all know that. and to reinforce their claim a bit of theatrics is usually thrown in the mix. but sometimes it looks too obvious.

As someone that plays the game, yeah I do. Quite often I'll get stood on or kicked and it's only when you take the next step and put weight on it that you feel the full extent of the knock.

He got studs in his ankle, I suspect it would have stung a bit. Don't think that's embarrassing to say.

well in all my years of watching football ive seen this happen at city once.

ive seen players get hurt and then hop off limping a few times.
but not many dying swan acts like that.
he seemed to take 2 steps and then fall over and only then go to his ankle.

but seeing as you play the game i will bow down to your superior knowledge on this one.

Well you asked if I really believed it, I'm surprised you've never copped a knock and then gone to put weight on it and felt it at that point.

Tetteh trying to carry on after studs to the ankle and going down vs Chris Martin screaming and rolling round the floor after being breathed on. Theres gamesmanship and theres being a tit.

There was no delayed reaction he hobbled a few steps as anyone would, just where a normal person would probably clutch their ankle and hop around a bit he flopped onto the floor instead.

Hitting the floor immediately after the contact would have been an even more unnatural reaction.

Why does it even matter, he was fouled and a penalty was correctly awarded. The only thing that was missing was a yellow card for the defender.

I just don't know why he would go down there if it wasn't pain, he had a clear shot at goal.

Actually I don't like cheating in any sport. Did he cheat? In my opinion no because it was a penalty his ankle was clearly stood/stud on. None of us can say 100% the pain it caused but yes it did seem like a delayed reaction but still a clear penalty. Unlike some of the Bristol players reactions. Like you say though it is a sad part of football.

We just have different views on why he went down like he did fella. Benefit of doubt goes to him this time as he is new to the club.

With his height, he’s not going to have the best balance is he. Look at Crouch and our own Super Kev, they ran like Bambi on ice. I read it as he got clipped, tried to regain balance and then thought **** it why should I? Genuinely think he initially tried to stay on his feet. Not many do that these days.

Cheers. Did you delete the ones about Nadine Dorries? Not that I mind them as long as responses to them are left on.

I can't remember, but I certainly would have if I'd seen them, all political posts are deleted as soon as they're seen, as you've been told numerous times.
