I've been impressed with this tournament. The Women's game has moved forward really well, technique wise its had a big improvement. Still a few things that can improve, namely a big gap between the big nations and the newer ones, but overall its come along way. Also there seem to be more than one or two teams in contention and anything that means the Germans and Yanks don't just dominate all the tournaments is good.
I agree it has come along a lot now they are full time players, a few years back the commentators would introduce a player then tell you what her job was.
Goal keeping used to be a huge problem as well where they just couldn’t fill the goals, but last few years overall standard has improved as well so not seeing as many silly goals from long range where just lobbing the keepers. Tbf womens football isn’t aimed at us really… this is aimed at kids. Young girls who 10-15 years ago wouldnt be able to find a team to play so would just give up. If it now gets a load of kids, girls and boys, into playing football it can only Improve everything and hopefully gets more girls interested in maybe the mens game as wel, wanting to go to more games, create a better atmosphere at mens grounds etc.
We re losing 3-0 t home to Salzburg, obviosly none of the first team are playing except Konate, Carvalho, Gomez, Milner and Elliottt. Davies is in goal
I don't know. Ok tbf I'm not really going to be invested in the WSL, other than seeing how Liverpool are doing, but I can see my interest being like Rugby. Six Nations and World Cups (read World Cup an Euros) I'll be interested.
True I think people will be a bit more interested. But it’s mainly aimed at getting young girls into the game really. More girls involved means more funding, better players, improvement in quality
I didn't even know there was a cup final going on today until it was over. Good to see England won something-never expected to see that in my lifetime. Still don't expect the men's team to win anything in my lifetime.
