I'm liking what we've done with the £140 advance from HSBC on our PL money for this season. In theory we could do the same next year and the year after, say for arguments sake another £150m for each of the next two seasons. Maybe we are looking at structuring transfers and paying them over the next 3 seasons which effectively means we're playing with £450m of transfer money....none of which the PL can do **** all about and also is not factored in FFP either. Add to that new sponsorship deal with shirt sponsor next season plus any other new commercial deals we're likely to do....we could be looking at upwards of £500m being spent over the next 3 seasons.....none of which is from any of our owners' coffers.
Hmm I like your optimism however we also have overheads and wages to pay. So it’s not all for transfers. We genuinely need about an extra 100m of commercial additional income by the end of this season or our growth will stunt.
Aye, I had realised that….£500m over three seasons will get some decent players, and not all £50m+ players either. £5m a year in wages is about £100k a week, we could easily spunk upwards of £350m on actual transfer fees and more than cover wages with the remainder like! These next 3 seasons are gonna be ****ing massive for us, and I can’t wait for the first of them to get underway on Sat!
