I watched the game and I thought that Cabaye didn't play anywhere near as good as he has played for you guys. His distribution wasn't the greatest and he got caught in possession far more often that a player of his calibre was expect. However, this wasn't a game for silky, free flowing football that Cabaye would be accustomed to.

Krul - 7.

Not his greatest performance. Dropped a few crosses and looked a bit wobbly, but did well enough with everything else.
Back four - 8.

All played out of their socks. Can't fault any of them
Spiderman - 9.

Was magnificent. Seen him on his mazy attacking runs, but never knew he had a defensive side to his game. Hardly put a foot wrong
Cabaye - 6.

Played reasonably well. Lack of match practice probably showed with a few wayward balls.
Obertan - 7.

Excellent ball for Ba to score. Still doesn't seem like he can actually take the ball pass players. Still not finished article

Best - 7.

Assist almost as good as Ledley King's for VdV. Held the ball up well.

Perch - 10. The only predictable outcome of the match.

I just keep thinking about Cabaye's class pass for Ba in the first half and gave him a 7

 

I really think people are a bit prejudiced against Perch. Bringing him on did well to add a more physical and clunky side to our play in the final minutes. Sure, he may have gotten a stupid yellow but he helped slow up Stoke's play and that slide tackle on the edge of the box at the end was quite good.

And Best - he may not be scoring but he's a physical handful in the box that causes big defenders all sorts of problems. I think the characterising of him as a Championship striker is a bit unfair. There's much worse in the Prem and he has a decent record at this level - teams struggle to control him and let others through as a result.

Finally, I thought Guthrie was great. Really pleased that he managed to fill in well for Tiote and give us another striker and the African Cup of Nations might
not be so bad.

Oh and in summary. **** you pundits, **** you very much. Except for you Gary Neville. I never thought I'd say that.

 

May I just ask, was Perch bad?

 

Not really lol, but he just makes me soooo nervous lol

 

Perch was fine, made an Smudger-esque first touch, yellow card tackle but also made a very good slide on the side of the box. Wasn't too bad.

 

If we had the results from last season in the fixtures we have played this season we would only have 6 points
