Got to say though, the supermarket here is outstanding.

Super U, has the most extensive, freshest, reasonably priced absolute quality produce ever. And hardly a ****er in there.

Unlike British supermarkets, that sell over priced ****e and are packed full of pensioners, even on weekends.

We have an absolute **** load to learn.

    Not that we ever will.

Seem to remember all the sites in Northern Spain, you have to wear a swim cap to go in the pool, hence we went to the beach each day.

I had a 1983 model XJ6. 4.2 litre V8 engine, looked like a spitfire engine when you opened the bonnet. Bought it for £500 in 2001, you could pick em up for a song but they cost so much to run. That car was a thing of utter beauty, but it had it's funny little ways. It drank more than I did for a start, two 16 gallon tanks and it cost a weeks wages to drive to the shops and back. The electrics were ****ed up, and it had these ceramic fuses you could either get direct from Jaguar for silly money, or buy for pennies from a car spares place in Tottenham; but those ones didn't quite fit, so it was always touch and go if your indicators or lights were going to just cut out on you as you took a corner. Another idiosyncresy, the battery shelf would fill up with water when it rained, and dump water on your feet as you pulled away. I loved that car, sold it to a bloke who was going to take it stock car racing but ended up dumping it at the roadside in Hertfordshire somewhere.

Beautiful cars to look at though mate. I used to have a mate many years ago, in my much younger days, had a big black zephyr, bench seat so you could have three up front, in the days before seat belts. You didn't need airbags with them beasts, you'd write off anything that touched yer.

I went to Bilbao 4 years ago and spent a day in San Sebastian .
I walked down from the bus station along the river .
We turned right and it was like being in a traditional English seaside resort along the beach .
We then went to the other side of the river and it was absolutely fantastic old Sandstone buildings in classic Spanish style with narrow streets .
A trip to the top of the castle fortress is highly recommended .
Very tiring getting up but the views are outstanding .
I wish I'd spent a couple of nights there as apposed to 5 in Bilbao .

Old Town is the recommendation, yes?

We're not there long and the plan is a bit of time on beach then wander off into local territory for the food.

They've got a band on as well.

This place is a proper find tbh.

Good size pint of decent lager is €4.50, so cheaper than blighty more or less.

Hog roast at €22 a head, including wine and dessert. Wasted on the kids, so just me and Mrs Chief having that, kids having some pasta before we go and are apparently they ok to tuck in if anything left.

French owner woman saying; so you the ones with GB on the back of your van? **** this UK ****, eh!

Could stay here a couple more days I think.

We're calling in on the way home this time, so just a flying visit into San Sebastian.

Already booked next year and plan is all of it in Spain. Will stay Pamplona for a couple of days that time, before heading to a Costa on the med.

Have a look at Zaragoza en route.

Not a lot of people consider Northern Spain it's generally south so they can get onto the Med and Carling :emoticon-0103-cool:

In a place called Contis Plage, big site with pools and slides and such like. Absolutely ideal for the kids.

By the pool there are world class females of all nationalities for my sixteen year old to show an interest in.

He stays in the van on his phone! Hasn't so much as put a pair of trunks on.

    I wonder he's mine sometimes.

On a river too, will take the SUP out this evening. Looks superb
