Thought some of our passing was bit sloppy today. TAA, vvd Hendo all put ball out of play a few times. Put it down to pre season rustiness. Diaz I really like, but just needs to work on final 3rd. At times he just cuts inside and seems bit too obvious and maybe crowds the area. Maybe needs to pick his moments and stay wider, especially with Nunez in the middle. Overall things looking positive for season. 7 days to go!
Only watching the game now. There was a long VAR check on the City goal. No issue with the offside, but Foden clearly fouls Adrian who has both hands on the ball.
I've enjoyed the justification for Selling Sterling being that Grealish is going to take his place. Now Sterling maybe a bit of a knob but at least he delivered for them. Grealish is the biggest waste of money since HS2
The City fans were not shy of reminding their Liverpool counterparts, their chants of "You nearly won the league" prompting a riposte of "Where's your European Cup?" Talking about the other one how many less you have?.
They are not the same sort of incident. First Schmeichel makes a.meal of it and that's an insta foul when a keeper acts like he's lost his hand even if he's not touched Second there is a striking action into schmeichel. Fodens not really kicked thst ball. Adrian has dropped it out and then come round foden to get hands on it. If anything it's bounced off.
I would be more interested in the fact that A) nobody mentioned a pretty decent firmino performance for an hour. He was doing the job quite nicely I thought. Looked decent. B) nobody really mentioned fabinho who bossed them C) Diaz wasn't given enough credit either. I thought he played quite well up and down the line.
Watched it four or five times now. He has one hand on the ball as it's on the ground as Foden challenges (according to Gallager he doesn't need to kick the ball). As said, I think it's a ****e law, but it is the law.
