A good listen - some good insight from the Coventry point of view.

    Great thread RTB - thanks.

I am thinking a draw for this one. If, though, we can get a fast start and nick an early goal we might just get the win. I like the team you've put out but would also like to get a look at Simms playing.

    Hawaaaaaaaaay and, as always, FTM

Getting properly excited for tomorrows game now, atmosphere should be bouncing which should spur the players on.

Really hope we start fast and get an early goal

Coventry City injury news ahead of big season opener at Sunderland
Coventry City injury news from CoventryLive as Mark Robins provides an update on Kasey Palmer and Martyn Waghorn

Coventry City summer signing Kasey Palmer was back in pre-season training this week after recovering from a thigh injury
Mark Robins is hoping to be just one man short of a clean bill of health when Coventry City travel for their big season-opener at Sunderland this weekend.

The Sky Blues will be without long-term casualty Liam Kelly after the midfield skipper suffered a recurrence of a torn hamstring at Oxford United earlier this month. But the City manager is hopeful that he’ll have an otherwise fully fit group from which to choose for his matchday squad which will be travelling up to the North East on Saturday afternoon after a morning training session at Ryton.

Striker Martyn Waghorn and playmaker Kasey Palmer sat out the final pre-season match at Portsmouth last weekend with calf and thigh injuries, respectively, but Robins has some positive news to report.

“Kasey Palmer is back in training now so we are OK on that front, and long may that continue,” he said. “Pre-season has been really good from that perspective apart from Kels really.”

As for Waghorn and whether he will make the bus to the Stadium of Light, he said: “Martyn has been out for a few days. They are trying to clear him today so if that’s the case he will train tomorrow (Sat). He had a calf issue but thankfully there’s no tear, just a kick.

“He’s a senior professional who knows his own body and it wasn’t right for him to continue, so he has had a few days out and some treatment and hopefully the information I have had this morning is he will be cleared and OK to train tomorrow.”

watched the hull game as i think we should put ourselves in the same 'group' as other recent promoted teams, i saw nowt to really scare us from both teams although being fair, first games are rarely a great indicator... i am happy that other fans are looking at us as the 5th placed team from last season and i hope the managers are as well.

I only watch SAFC and some international matches. Curious and anxious to see how the lads might fair, I've watched the three matches on sky (ESPN) this weekend... "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore." These players are older, bigger, faster, close down more quickly, and upon arrival -- there lookin' to leave a mark. Up and down the pitch, they stride, attack & counter -- the ball never seems to be in the midfield -- probably because no one wants to get clattered. If the players you would choose aren't in the line-up tomorrow -- be patient -- there will be opportunities for all. Managing attrition will be one of the many challenges that lie ahead. I can't wait. Onward.
