Would a top 6 team want Bednarek? He’s a decent enough defender and gets plenty of blocks in, but he isn’t the quickest and his distribution ain’t that great either. He’s a premier league level player but I wouldn’t think he would be anything more than a squad player for the top teams who want defenders who can play out of defence.
Cornet hasn’t left Burnley yet? But wasn’t in the squad for their win tonight. We don’t seem to be in for him but would be surprised if nobody comes in for him.
We couldn’t even afford half his wages so this is clearly nonsense What was the other nonsense one from a few weeks back? Someone from Dortmund for 30m. I think that was also a fake TalkSport account as well as a hilariously fake newspaper article
Ashley Ward has just signed for the womens team. I play 45's+ with her Dad here in Christchurch! Bloody awesome achievement. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/2...ional-defender-ward-ahead-championship-debut/
i got so confused for a moment, I thought a transition had taken place for the former Barnsley & Blackburn striker who was playing over 45s football in New Zealand. that’s a great achievement for your friends daughter - was she fully professional already or has she earned that chance at saints?
not sure if her previous deal was pro or not tbh. its certainly a good time to be a good womens footballer tho.
I’ve just seen a story suggesting that Brighton are refusing to negotiate with Man City for Cucurella (who has handed in a transfer request) I wonder if this will backfire on them in the long run? They allegedly already lost out on Livramento by not accepting a buy back clause. And now this It might well hamper their chances of signing future players if said players look at this example and thing “wait, if I excel and the champions of England come in for me you will make it as difficult as possible?”. At the very least they will start insisting on release clauses which, based on the Tino example, Brighton might well refuse It’s an interesting game they are playing. In this case of Man City sign another left back instead then they have lost out on a big sale. Their owner is wealthy but few clubs could turn down that kind of money. Case in point - selling Bissouma for 25m rather than losing him for nothing. It is likely a 25m profit they are turning down here. I guess it will also depend on how he reacts. We know what Virgil was like when his move was blocked. It backfired on us (so we are historically guilty of being inconsistent on this). But not all players react this way The Athletic say they are trying to negotiate a new contract with him. Safe to say that isn’t happening now - or at least, not without a release clause.
Stoke have approached City to loan Liam Delap for a season City’s stance to not sale remains firm Dan Sheldon
I don't think we consider this one over until he is on loan at another club. I can't imagine that if given the choice he would choose Stoke or Burnley over Premier League football. But perhaps we should be moving on? Because I also don't think we would be loaning him in with no option to buy. Probably not keen to get burned again
I think it’s almost certain that we will be pursuing other targets who aren’t as much in the spotlight as Delap. I agree about the loan to buy thing though, and I guess that’s where the sticking point is with City. I think a buy-back clause would suit them better, and would probably be the only way we’ll actually get him.
I guess our thinking must be that City also claimed that Lavia was not for sale as well. And Delap's pathway is arguably even more blocked than his was
